BSA Firebird Scrambler

The BSA A65 650cc unit construction engine was first introduced in 1962. With names like Spitfire, Hornet, Lightning, and Firebird the bikes conjured up the imagination of the buying public specifically in the USA where there was a big export drive.
The Firebird model was introduced in 1968 and ran till โ€™71 the biggest changes were introduced in 1969 with widened crankcases and a twin leading shoe front brake, improvements to the exhaust system meant the performance was also slightly improved to a 110mph top speed.
Street scramblers were the first dual sport bikes capable of road and off-road use and were normally destined for the US market so it is rare to find an original UK registered example. This matching number bike was first registered on 27th Nov.1969 and is showing just 4 owners from new.
Having been previously restored the bike was laid up only covering 18 test miles.
It remains in very good overall condition and has been recently retuned to road use.
