EXTERIOR
With its striking Le Mans-inspired aesthetics and bespoke Martini livery, this 2007 GTR looks nothing short of sensational against our studio backdrop. Built by its original owner and modelled after the factory GTR that set the Top Gear lap record, this gleaming example remains in excellent condition throughout. Aside from the odd chip here and there the lightweight fiberglass body is without any major wear and the carbon rear wing is still perfectly presented, retaining a deep glossy shine to the lacquer.
INTERIOR
The spartan interior is equipped with Ultima bucket seats, 6-point Williams harnesses, air conditioning, and a handy intercom system. Purposeful Alcantara extends from the seats to the grippy Sparco steering wheel and non-reflective dashboard, all in excellent condition. The roll cage is finished in complementing black, as are the carpets, door panels and ceiling. Deep storage areas are located beneath the removable carbon fibre sill panels.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
At the heart of this GTR is a 7-litre small block Chevrolet V8 producing circa 640hp. This particular example is equipped with a Quick Fuel Technology carb and MSD ignition. The exhaust headers have also been ported and ceramic coated to improve engine breathing and reduce temperatures under the rear clip. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a Porsche G50/50 5-speed transaxle (geared to 200mph) with LSD, a perfect match for this engine.
Mechanically sorted, the car has been well maintained throughout its life, benefitting from a no expense spared approach to maintenance in more recent years. The last service was carried out in July 2020 at 18,688 miles, less than 1k miles ago. A fresh MOT will be carried out upon sale for the new keeper’s peace of mind.
WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
Wrapped in a matching set of Michelin Pilot Sport tyres the 19-inch BC forged wheels present in excellent condition all round. Being forged they are both lighter and stronger than cast alloy wheels. The brakes are AP Racing front and rear, providing excellent stopping power exactly when needed.
HISTORY FILE
This well known and respected GTR 640 was built by its original owner and completed in 2007; it has now driven just 19k miles in the hands of 7 owners. Since 2016 the car has been looked after by leading Ultima specialist, Charles Dunn, with maintenance invoices in the paperwork totaling in excess of £32k since that time alone.
Under previous ownership the car received a number of important upgraded components to ensure more reliable running on both the road and track, with vastly improved cooling and handling over the standard GTR. All in all, a particularly fine example both cosmetically and mechanically, ready to be driven hard and very much enjoyed.
