Porsche 993 Turbo Fully restored and revised, only 37 kilometres since restauration, over € 140.000 invested

Why wait to restore a car until it's completely finished? If the basics are right, that might save you half the work. Using a car makes things wear out, the body gets some signs of wear, the paint loses some of the glass and the technology gets a bit tired. These are all things that come with aging a car. This Porsche 993 was no exception. But it also means that the base is excellent. Before the restoration was started, the car had driven 215,000 kilometers. Over a period of about 25 years that is less than 10,000 kilometers per year on average, so not a crazy mileage for such an incredibly versatile car. The 993 Turbo was actually a bit the sweet spot of the series. The RS was too hardcore and too expensive, the Turbo S came later and a 993 Carrera 4, according to many, simply wasn't fast enough. How different is that with this 450 hp all-wheel drive 911? It was a beast and still is. Little can beat all that air-cooled violence behind you. This particular example was delivered new by Porsche Stuttgart and after a small trip to Spain, with a German owner, it was returned to Germany and restored by a specialist. The total investment for this restoration amounted to more than € 140,000. When the exterior was ready, the eye turned to the technology. The engine and transmission have also been separated down to the last screw. The bike was in good condition but had some experience and the previous owner saw room for improvement. The engine and tram sissi have been completely repaired by a specialist
The work could not be more rigorous. The restoration of this car was not started haphazardly, but a clear plan was first drawn up. The steps that would be taken would be as follows: completely disassemble the car and determine which parts can be reused, which parts may need to be sprayed or powder coated and which parts should be blasted first. After that, the technology was examined, it was decided to overhaul the entire technology and to use largely original parts for this. The great thing about restoring a Porsche is that the use of original parts is not a problem because all parts are available from the factory. The interior was still in such good condition that it was no problem to reuse the seats and carpets, that is the typical Porsche quality for which the brand from Stuttgart is known. not only all rubbers in the suspension were renewed, but also things like the brakes and the undercarriage were completely renewed during the restoration. After the plan for the restoration was drawn up, the restoration of the car was started step by step. The car was disassembled down to the last screw. The body first passed the ice blaster before the body was taken to the painter. The body was first completely taut before a start was made on repainting the car in its original colour. The "Irisblau Metallic paint" was painted very well and looks beautiful. The wheels were also completely bare before they were repainted in the original colour. After the spraying, a start could be made with the reconstruction. It can be seen that everything has been worked with an enormous eye for detail. The body seams are just as beautiful as when the car left the factory and the sheet metal is beautifully thin. For the finishing touch, it was decided to place new logos in the rims.
overhauled and readjusted. Even today the 993 Turbo is still a very fast car that is barely inferior to many younger sports cars in terms of performance. This particular example is also helped by a Bilstein PS19 chassis, which not only makes the car beautiful on its wheels, but also has an extremely good driving behavior. The dampers are not only adjustable in highest but also the damping and rebound can be adjusted separately. The good tires on which this 911 stands also help to safely lead that 450 hp to the asphalt. The 993 Turbo is also equipped with all the luxury you could wish for. The car has at its disposal: Litronic Xenon lighting, sliding roof, climate control, cruise control, Becker navigation, fully electrically adjustable seats, seat heating, electrically operated windows, sun shade band in the windscreen, third brake light, carbon mirror caps, sports exhaust, carbon strut brace , spare wheel and finally a full leather upholstery including dashboard.
The original board folder has been preserved with the car, including all booklets. The restoration was very well documented by means of a very extensive photo report. Here, too, the eye for detail is immediately apparent, it is not difficult to take thousands of photos during the restoration process. The art is in capturing the things that really matter. Another thing where the precision with which they worked is immediately apparent is the fact that the sticker from the luggage compartment has been carefully removed and preserved. Although these are things that at first glance don't seem immediately important, it shows that the people who worked on this car knew exactly what they were doing and that's how the car feels and drives.
Because driving is ultimately what you buy a Porsche 993 Turbo for, although this car can now blow out 26 candles, the way in which it can gain speed and shake it off again through those huge brakes with red calipers is still very impressive. The Bilstein chassis is tuned for street use and gives the car a wonderfully comfortable ride. This 993 Turbo is simply not better than a standard one in everything.
This is a car for those looking for the very best 993 Turbo on the market and wanting to make sure they don't have to worry about an upcoming restoration for years to come. Literally turnkey 993 Turbo driving pleasure.
