VAUXHALL VX220 2.0 TURBO 2004
Regrettable sale of my much-loved VX due to lack of use. Car has just had a recent service and is MOT’d until September 2022. HPI Clear.
Colour is Black Sapphire (Lotus code B93) with black leather interior.
I am the second owner and have had the car for 15 years. Mileage is currently sat just shy of 63,600 miles.
Full-Service History – including recent cambelt/discs/handbrake and sill embedded brake hose replacement (that’s a big one!). Maintained by Liam at MMG Performance who looked after the car for almost 10 years and then PJS Lotus for the last 4 years. Feel free to ask them for an honest opinion of this car.
Wheels have been recently refurbished in OEM silver and are in perfect condition. The car is fitted with the correct, manufacturer recommended, Bridgestone Potenza tyres all round, with plenty of tread remaining.
Two sets of keys, all original documentation and receipts available. Note, one of the keys no longer appears to work the alarm/immobiliser (this sometime happens when the vehicle battery runs out).
A new battery has just been fitted. Replacing this is no mean feet so you can thank me later!
Car remains visually standard apart from being subtly lowered on Gaz suspension and a body coloured front V and windscreen surround.
Number plate will be sold separately.
MMG ECU Stage 1.5 remap (removing turbo flat spot)
TAT rear diffuser, original OEM diffuser will be sold with the car
Gaz Gold Pro adjustable steel bodied suspension all round
S2 Elise black windscreen surround
Mintex 1155 brake pads
Braided brake hoses
Uprated Engine mounts
Turbo sill plates
Known issues -
Small amount of wear on driver’s right hand seat bolster reflective of age and mileage (see photos).
Radio (original unit) works when it wants to, which is rarely!
In common with most VX220’s the paintwork would benefit some attention with the usual stone chips located towards the front end of the vehicle and the leading edges of the turbo intakes/ears. There is also a small amount of unbroken osmosis blistering between rear boot lid and spoiler, again, very common to this car (see photos). A few other blemishes here and there as you might expect on a 17-year-old vehicle.
The above notwithstanding, I have done my utmost to look after this car as best I can. It has resided in a garage for most of it’s life, rarely goes out in the rain (rarely goes out!) and is washed with care only ever using the 2-bucket method and a lambswool mitt. I believe the only reason it has a bit of osmosis is because I regrettably left it out one night without realising the temperature was going to drop to about -5°C! Fortunately, this has absolutely no bearing on how much fun this car is to drive and how much attention it still gets. Just please don’t buy it if you don’t have a garage to store it in!
I'm happy to take you out for a test drive but won’t be allowing you to drive, I will demonstrate that the car drives as expected and happy to go out for as long as you need to be happy with it.
