Ferrari 365 GTC/4 Very well maintened, logbook present, only 3 owners from new

Although the Ferrari 365GTC/4 resembles a modern version of the Ferrari Daytona in appearance, it is a completely newly developed model. The 4.4 liter V12 with four overhead camshafts is identical to the engine in the Daytona. However, the 365GTC/4 has a much lower nose and therefore the carburettors are placed on the side of the engine to ensure that the V12 fits into the flatter nose. The Colombo V12 delivers 340 horsepower and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Like the Daytona, the GTC/4 has independent suspension on all four wheels. The height of the rear is hydraulically regulated. The 365GTC/4 has a look that was extremely modern for its time. The Ferrari 365GTC/4 has a typical "wedge" shape that is so typical of cars from the seventies. The exotic appearance is complemented by the flip-up headlights, the rubber front bumper and the matte black part on the rear. Unlike the Daytona, the 365GTC/4 has always been designed with flip-up headlights in the design, so they are more integrated into the design than the Daytona. When looking at the rear, the six separate taillights also stand out. Another special feature of the 365GTC/4 was that buyers could choose from no fewer than 46 different colors for the exterior and 10 different colors for the interior. The exterior was even available on request in every color a customer could imagine, unique for that time! At the introduction of the model, the 365GTC/4 was praised by the press for its good brakes, the fine operation of the gearbox and the extensive choice of paint options. The 365GTC/4 is particularly rare. Only 500 were made plus another 4 prototypes. Of the 500, 194 went to the United States, so only 265 cars remained for Europe and the rest of the world. Of the 265 cars, 41 were delivered with the steering wheel on the right. In total, therefore, only 224 365GTC/4s were delivered with the steering wheel on the left.
This red example was delivered new to the first Belgian owner in 1972 and has only 79,230 kilometers on the clock. The first Belgian owner ordered the car in Rosso Corsa with black leather and brown carpets. An extremely tasteful composition that is also timeless. The car has had three owners to date who have only taken very good care of the car. The last German owner was a man who included the car in his collection and transformed the car from a good example into an absolute top piece over the years. In all areas where this Ferrari could be improved, he has implemented it "rucksichtlos". In total, maintenance and improvements were carried out by the previous owner for more than 13,500. He had the body repainted, the carpets renewed, the rims repainted and the tires replaced, a major service performed, the shock absorbers and the level control renewed, the wishbones renewed, the brakes on the front axle renewed and the distributor cap replaced. In short, no half measures for a car that was already in very good condition to begin with.
The bodywork also looks great. The design immediately shows that the Daytona served as an example and simply illustrates what a Daytona should look like in the 1970s according to Ferrari. The sheet metal is nice and thin everywhere and fits perfectly everywhere. The bumpers are also in very good condition and are perfectly mounted. The rims are of course completely damage-free and fitted with good tires in the correct sizes.
The interior is also a feast for the eyes. The new carpets in combination with the beautifully maintained black leather upholstery contribute to the luxurious appearance of this 2+2 Ferrari GT. The instruments and controls are all in very good condition and look beautiful. In addition, this car is factory delivered with electric windows, air conditioning and power steering. So it is not only to see a modern car, but also to drive. Because driving is what it's all about with a Ferrari 365 GTC/4. The 4.4 liter Colombo V12 delivers 340 hp in this European delivered copy and is coupled to a manual transmission with five gears and syncromesh rings on all gears. The car has a perfect weight distribution of 51:49 thanks to the use of a transaxle transmission. With its level adjustment on the rear axle, the chassis is more than capable of transferring the power of that mighty V12 through the rear wheels to the street. The sound that the six twin Weber carburettors produce when you step on the gas is pure angelic song. What an experience. Even if the fuel is โ‚ฌ 10 per litre, in a car like this it is still not too expensive. The best part is that when you approach the red line you can shift into the next gear and the whole party repeats itself from the beginning until you finally reach the top speed of more than 260 kilometers per hour. Incredibly beautiful!
What is also wonderful is the documentation that comes with the car. The original warranty card is present as well as a lot of general information. In addition, one of the previous owners has kept track of the trips by car in a diary. Finally, the booklets of the original audio system are present, copies of old ownership papers and the invoices of the recent maintenance.
In short, not only a beautiful car to see but also to drive with matching documentation. All you have to do is get in, warm up the car and enjoy that unheard of beautiful sound. Pure Ferrari perfection.
