Why don't 993's come in bright in your face Porsche red?
Discussion
Because by the time the 993 was launched in 1994, almost every previous 1989-1994 - 964 had been built in Grand Prix White or Guards Red and everyone was SICK OF IT. Therefore, Guards Red 993s are rarer than a non-white 997 GTS. In future years a 997 GTS in anything BUT white will be worth a fortune

I thought as much re the colour, and you are right that the colour, although the driving force is probably the wrong place to start and that "the car" should be the best available at the time for the price, that's how my last porsche came to be yellow.
Now where are my clippers, would sir like a no 1 or a number 2?
ps Sorry but the red gt3 is a bit smaller than I was looking for, obviously if you chase a colour you are likely to end up with a car with issues good point well proved.

Don't know any guards 996s other than GT3 but know a couple of 997 and boxsters and caymans. Don't know a 991 yet.
Generally though it seems that the rarer cars aren't really that rare. How many models over the years are in the order of 1500 examples world wide and yet you know a couple of them.

Damn the 1990's for all those midnight blue 993's with grey or blue interior
Like this dreadful one you mean !! A tip cab who would have thought it ( actually its lovely !!) prefer it to my old 993 manual cab.
This ones only here for a short time though, bought to fill a short term gap, it is my 10th 911 and the previous owner spent about £4k on it over the last 1,000 miles, still needs a few bits and bobs doing but goes like a dream.
