Hornby - A Model World

Just came across this new series on the Yesterday channel today - it's a brilliant series following all the companies under the Hornby brand - Hornby, Scalextric, Airfix etc. as the staff design and research new releases. It also catches up with private enthusiasts - everyone from private attic layouts to Pete Watermans' cathedral-sized public exhibition, and gives an inside look at the premises and their development too.

10/10 would reocmmend!

It's not really new. The first series was shown earlier in 2022. A new series begins next week.

According to my Sky EPG the first episode of the second series is being shown on Thursday 12th January at 9pm on Yesterday.

Oh, that's a relief - despite being advertised for last night, and appearing in the EPG on my recorder, it recorded some war programme and I can't see a repeat during this week. Not just my box then.

New series now to start on Monday 16th January at 8pm. The episode is on UKTV Play now, though.

They had to re-edit the first episode. We think this is due to a Hornby employee that was due to feature, sadly recently passing away (I work for Hornby).

Watching this for the first time in ages tonight. Enjoying it more then I did when I saw a couple of episodes when it first started. I like the variety and especially the bits that show model railway challenge judge Kathy Millatt at home making things.

Yes, last night at 8pm.

Yes episode 2 is due this Monday 23rd.

The top ten features footage of my local Vulcan bomber XL426 at Southend Airport.

Maintained in live taxiing condition by the Vulcan Restoration Trust. The aircraft is 100% funded by the Trust members, visitors, volunteers and various companies, a long with the assistance of Southend Airport management.

The aircraft is in a hanger out of the weather. Superb team effort !

Ah well, my SkyQ series link missed that but I have no doubt it will appear on the channel soon. Was it any good? I found the narration of the first series a little patronising, but I still watched it
