T5 Gearbox temperature query

Hi All,

The T5 in my Griff feels a bit notchy when cold. Nothing too unusual there, but when I'm driving locally it stays that way. Since I live in London, it is mostly stop / start traffic. Is it likely then, that the gearbox oil never actually reaches a decent temperature under these conditions? Does it need more sustained driving conditions to warm through correctly?

If so, what the best thing to do to minimise wear?

Mine feels pretty much the same hot or cold.

John is "the man" for TVR transmission and final drive.

Lot's of opinions on best oil to use...I'd imagine John will give you a steer on this too.

Stuart, did you resolve the problem of changing gear with a cold box.

I have the same problem.
