How stupid is this ?

I know TVR engines are famous for blown engines (and I know what I'm talking about ) but this time my mileage counter prevents me from reaching a magic number and stopped counting.

I knocked on the glass, played with the trip counter but without success, any ideas ? (pic is from a cerbera)

Its a TVR thing! Keep tapping the glass and flicking the reset button as you're driving. Reversing for a distance has worked for others aswell. If not, it'll probably work again when it feels like it wants to anyway. Then look forward to it happening again in another 10000 miles time!

Yes tapping (quite hard) with the back of your knuckles does work, just needs some perseverance. Judging by the picture it's nearly there.

When it fails completely to move (which it will.....) the it's a simple (?) dash out and send the speedo off to 'Speedy Cables' for repair.
I did and it's worked perfectly ever since...

Having read the "How stupid is this ?" subject line I had to read the post twice to realise it was something other than a TVR owner declaring on a public forum that "TVR engines are famous for blown engines". Nothing like depreciating your own assets
