I sincerely hope this comes to pass:

I'd love to see the smile wiped off the vile, smug, lefty bh's face by a nice lawsuit!

I really hope this happens, can't think of anyone who deserves it more.

Probably won't though, more's the pity.

Monbiot was doing some serious back peddling too when McAlpine released his statement.

He said, and I quote:

'I have done a few stupid things in my life, but nothing as stupid as this. The tweets I sent which hinted – as I assumed to be the case – that Lord McAlpine was the person the child abuse victim Steve Messham was talking about were so idiotic that, looking back on them today, I cannot believe that I wrote them.'

I can!

Mr Monbiot - some very elementary and simple advice: never 'assume' anything.

He and Bercow...
'Clever dicks' sums them both up nicely.

I dont know if I'm verging on tinfoil hattery here, but I find the lack of coverage and general outrage at the people who made these tweets quite disturbing. I imagine if the situation was reversed and some senior lefty had been accused by all sorts of right leaning people, the Biased broadcasting corporation would have been all over it naming and shaming them

I just read it as "Oh fk please don't sue me" tbh.

Aint no 'verging on tinfoil hattery" there mate , i think full silver foil suit would be a tad closer.

Or is my post a left wing conspiracy too?

Lordy.

That's a substantial brush of tar you're wielding there.

Agree.

Her tweet epitomises the whole mess of innuendo that some people love to peddle.

It is a bit odd that Milliband hasnt demanded a full enquirey yet. He has about everything else, but is oddly quiet about the bbc issue.

Why don't you jog on then? Nobody here cares if you post or not.

Got to agree with this. What has happened here is a deliberate slur of the very worst sort against an innocent man. And it appears to have been done with the intention of deflecting criticism from the BBC. No tinfoil hat required.

Where is the rage? This makes the phone hacking scandal look positively benign. It is an almost unimaginable abuse of power, and it must surely mean the end of the line for the BBC as it currently exists.

But where are the angry people? Where are the calls for a change?

I see your point Kinky but I wonder if "hate filled, bile spilling, paranoid, politically naive, under endowed, closeted a**e wipe" refers to me. Has he been chatting with my missus?

Frankly I do agree with you, just think some days the world has too many idiots in it, where's the "pool cleaner" when you need him?

Somebody on Cif described Monbiot as "currently in hiding and stting ecologically-correct bricks". Which is nice.
