When I look at this, I think of free parking
there's almost no stoptree? that can hold you or stop you, you just pas driving down under it that save's some money
No problem for free space with the caparo

Did you go to the same show? I travelled down from Northumberland with a pal and we both thought how poor the show is. The whole of this show would fit in one hall of the NEC. No Porsche, Ferrari, Audi, VW, etc etc. Just loads of cars parked in the 'SuperCar' paddock, as much as I like Mclaren F1, Ferrari F40 etc this isn't a classic car show. Even the 'tat' stands were very poor, and you could easily have got around the show in an hour or so. I really can't see the show happening again, it certainly didn't feel anything like an International Motor Show. I would be interested to hear other peoples feedback. I enjoyed it. Highlights for me:
It was well worth paying the extra for Thursday as crowds were definitely lacking.
Nissan concept car was a bit strange but I loved the Saab.
TVR stand was a bit bland and dark.
Loved the gull wing Merc, been a fave of mine for a long time.
Nice to meet Ted.
Mazda had a simple but effective demo of the new flip top MX5.

Mazda had a simple but effective demo of the new flip top MX5.
Tony - we were there yesterday from Northumberland as well! It was the most stressful day's travel in ...well...forever. We flew to Stanstead, National Express to London, DLR to the show. The DLR bit was not too bad, but the minute you put your journey in the hands of others, it falls apart like a wet digestive biscuit.
If it happens again, will probably drive the night before - B&B, then travel home at leisure.
No VAG cars was a definite miss. I would have loved to have been able to have a nose at the new TT (being an RX-8 owner and thinking about near-future changes), but nope - they chose to ignore a huge target audience by not being there. Shame.
I agree about the supercar paddock - if I wanted to see cars from a forced angle and not be near them, I could just watch the TV. Real shame. I understand making sure kids and the like do not hammer the 'exhibits', but I am 31 and hardly likely to affect the cars in a negative way - unless drool counts! Shame they could not have arranged for a Veyron to be there.
Shame about the 'no more T350C' news I was told on the stand. I have always thought that to be one of the prettiest cars - especially in spectraflair silver.
Anyway, far from thinking, "Roll on the next one", I was actually left thinking, "Meh".
Most of my photos have dodgy focus too - I had to turn the flash off to avoid massively dark shots (the lighting must confuse the camera), but this resulted in strange focus as obviously the number of lights hitting the cars at different/changing angles, meant the camera could not always find a 'point'.

If more manufacturers had shown up it would have been a much better show. I went down Wednesday night, which was supposed to have been something special, but really wasn't - except for the lack of crowds.
I had been intending to compare mid-range convertible 2-seaters, but the only one there was the Z4 (and not even an M).
No Porsche, Audi and no SLK on the Merc stand meant it was a pretty meaningless comparison. Although the new MX5 was a surprise - at 6'5 I can fit in it, the same couldn't be said about the last one. And the new Alfa Spider looks good, shame about the weight and the lack of support from the seats.
For me though the biggest thing was the lack of any real paper brochures on the stands - if I want to contact the dealer or manufacturer I can do that online and save a few quid, the point of going to the motorshow is to have a poke around multiple manufacturers in one place and take away a load of goodies to browse through later.
After a couple of hours I was left wandering around thinking, "is that it?" They have to get VAG and Fiat to show up, the only representatives of either were Seat and Alfa Romeo.
