What’s your go to F1 podcast? I’m newish to the sport and there are dozens! I tried F1 Nation which has lots of likes but was vey superficial, I wonder if there is a good one that covers the technical and insider and financial goings on?

I enjoy Back of the grid.

Just like the presenting style and they are generally knowelgable, consistent and entertaining.

Occasionally will also listen to Autosport podcast, but less frequently than BOTG.

My usual listens are:

P1 with Matt and Tommy (Formally the guys on the WTF1 podcast from a few years back)
Tommo F1 (mainly a video content creator but does audio discussions also)
The Ringer F1 podcast a US based pod but with a british guy as a regular (Spanners)
The Late breaking F1 podcast (three british F1 dudes, very light hearted)

All those four above are quite relaxed with some good banter. More like listening to regular F1 fans have a chat/debate.

The Race F1 podcast as mentioned is decent and more on the serious side as they are mainly all F1/motorsport journalists who were ex-Autosport with a good range of talkers and is where I digest any new F1 news and race results.

Bring back V10s is great too.

It's not a podcast as such, but Peter Windsor's analysis on youtube is always interesting and his live streams whilst a bit shambolic are often full of interesting insight about past and present F1.

Part of my race weekend routine is listening to his analysis. He is often very astute with his predictions as well in terms of driver performance.

I listen to Missed Apex, quite often have Joe Saward and Craig Scarborough(Scarbs F1) on as guests, among others.

I like this one. The trick is to skip the first 3-4 minutes to avoid the endless, dull discussion of the weather, hotel arrangements and travel schedules that's the same every episode. And of course instantly delete any episode with Valentin Khorounzhiy (who mercifully rarely appears in the F1 podcast but utterly ruined the MotoGP one).

As above.

The older Motorsport podcasts are worth finding - Wallace & Weaver, Ross Brawn, etc

I really like The Race F1 Tech Show, although I don't always agree with some of Gary's views on F1.

Missed Apex Podcast are a really good bunch of people (they run a few events a year such as karting and livestreams with audiences), and are basically the opposite of superficial. Joe Saward's been in the F1 paddock forever, they have quite a few racers on their panel. It's the sort of thing I can listen to where a few people don't agree on something but it never gets annoying.

MAP is the only topical F1 podcast I've stuck with. The Tom Clarkson "beyond the grid" isn't usually topical (it's a 1-hour-or-so interview format with a single person, often a driver from the past or similar), but is also worth a listen.

It's matured nicely over the years as well, especially Richard "Spanners" Ready who has learned to be more of a host and less of a voice. I think the Sidepodcast debacle was a coup for Missed Apex.

You can get an additional benefit by playing "short corner" bingo on Peter Windsor's youtube videos.
His post-practise "race-runs data" videos are usually pretty helpful in understanding how the teams are expecting to deg the tyres in race trim.

FFS or Formula For Success with EJ and Coulthard isn't a bad listen. Certainly some of Eddy's stories in the earlier shows are amazing.

The other one I usually go for is the Shift-F1 Podcast. I think it used to be the Alt-F1 podcast and then it spun out into its own thing. Its more of an American view but I like the three guys, they've got some good chemistry (Drew Scanlon, Danny O'Dwyer, and Rob Zacny).

You may well have seen Drew many times because he's the butt of this meme: https://tenor.com/en-GB/search/drew-scanlon-gifs
