I’m using the Autoglym Polar Blast system at the moment - snow foam, followed by wash and seal that you apply via the snow cannon. Love it!
Another vote for Polar Blast. Mark V GTD said:

You really should try either Garage Therapy or Bilt Hamber for your snow foam, they're in a different league compared to AutoGlym's. I've tried all the AG Polar series. The Snow Foam had little effect but left foam on the driveway for days, the wash used a lot of product via a foam lance as recommend but I do rate the Polar Seal and not long finished my 3rd bottle of the stuff. Great for adding quick protection during the winter. I'd be trying Garage Therapy's car shampoo, uses very small amount but is very slick and a pure shampoo so it won't mask any protection and rinses easily too. Belle427 said:
The very good ones do something and help, they are not a miracle product though, more one to make the process of removing heavier soiling easier before a contact wash.
Are people using a mitt to wash down the care one the wash foam has been applied? Is it a two bucket method to rinse the mitt? Belle427 said:
No its designed to be rinsed off so not contact at all.
So many variables involved here though. I've used Bilt Hamber Auto Foam for a couple of years, no complaints however I suspect unless your car has top notch protection / ceramic coating etc then any snow foam may struggle to leave the car completely clean. On all of mine there's a slight film left, so yes it then necessitates a wash down with a mitt to get the surface totally clean. Sometimes I do that, other times I just snow foam, power rinse and accept that 80% clean is sufficient for this time of year. I hasten to add, none of mine have top notch protection.
I've used a few of the popular pre-washes - Autoglanz Spritzer, KKD (recently ceased trading) Citrus Magic. I use them through a pump sprayer, and I've tried dilution ratios from 1:100 to 1:20. I've tended towards using stronger ratios, because otherwise there's often no discernable effect.
Yesterday I tried Bilt Hamber Touchless diluted 1:100 and it was clearly effective on winter grime. I applied it to all of the bodywork apart from half of the drivers door, and it was obvious when pressure washing that less grime was removed from the drivers door. I then used Autoglanz Spritzer (1:20) on the drivers door and that got similar results to the rest of the car. The car is waxed with Fusso Coat and it was beading water again after pre-washing, with the exception of the areas immediately behind the wheels. I didn't bother with a contact wash afterwards.
Considering I only used 20ml of Touchless concentrate, it's very cost effective.
