Thing is sometimes just being together enjoying the time...and food is nice...a quick hoon was always funny at Ettington...one year i tried to keep up with our dutfch brothers but only had No.11's and skid marks on the turnings to follow...

Last time I made it to a 'Fest I was on the bike as my car was still in bits; Mr. Winterbottom was still with us as well.
Damn thing's 38 this year, I should really make more use of it...

Fellow Wedge-Heads, I’m pleased to announce that the 2025 edition of the Big Bad Wedge Fest will again be based at Chesford Grange Hotel, Kenilworth, Warwickshire and will take place from 27-29 June 2025 – ALL TVRs are most welcome!
This years event will be more relaxed and a little less structured than previously, which will hopefully add to the enjoyment of the entire weekend.
As usual, there is nothing formal planned for the Friday evening, so simply check-in to the hotel in your own time, grab yourself a drink and a bite to eat, then kick back and relax with TVR friends old and new.
On Saturday morning we will assemble in the hotel car park, departing around 9.00 for a 30 minute drive to visit Triumph Motorcycles at Hinckley, Leicestershire for a tour of their factory site, their exhibition and the Duplex Collection. The Triumph tours are limited to 18 people per group, and are timed at 10.00 and 11.00, at a cost of £27 per person. Once bookings for the earlier tour are full, the second tour will be made available to book. This is the dedicated booking link for our group tour:
https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/bbwf-2025-tickets-1...
https://www.triumphmotorcycles.co.uk/for-the-ride/...
After the tours are completed, we will head to the onsite Café 1902 for lunch, and then back to the hotel, taking a slightly more scenic route.
Back at Chesford Grange there will be an opportunity to take advantage of the health club, gym and pool (free for guests) for those feeling energetic, or to continue socialising in the Manor bar, on the hotel terrace or in the garden, following which, we will gather in a reserved area of the River Room Restaurant for dinner.
To book a room, simply call Chesford Grange on 0330 107 1599 and quote "BBWF 2025" to benefit from the special rates as follows:
• Friday 27 June: Classic room £162 single occupancy and £209 double occupancy. Both rates are per room for dinner, bed and breakfast (includes £32 per person main restaurant allowance)
• Saturday 28 June: Classic room £162 single occupancy and £209 double occupancy. Both rates are per room for dinner, bed and breakfast (includes £32 per person fixed menu)
Bookings require full pre-payment, and are cancellable without charge up to 1 month prior to the stay.
Please make your dinner selections for the Saturday evening only from the attached Inclusive Menu, and let me have them, together with any dietary requirements, as soon as you have booked your room.
Bookings will be available until no later than 18 April 2025, so please don’t delay to ensure participation.
After a leisurely breakfast on Sunday morning, it will be time for goodbyes and the journey home.
We look forward to seeing you at the BBWF 2025.
Fellow Wedgesters,
It’s been a whole month since the details of this year’s Big Bad Wedge Fest were announced, and my thanks go out to those who have shown their support for our event by booking hotel rooms and places on the Triumph factory tour. I would also like to extend my appreciation to those who have been in touch to let me know that they have a prior commitment – almost inevitable sometimes, unfortunately.
However, the overall take-up so far is very disappointing, with just a handful of bookings made to date, making the viability of this event questionable.
Given the large number of members across our various groups, and the encouraging response to the informal poll about the event last November, with 40+ respondents keen on the plan, I would have expected to be giving a more positive update at this point.
However, if the BBWF is to succeed, for this year and perhaps beyond, a clear show of tangible support is needed now. Absent this, the inevitable conclusion is that there is insufficient interest within the Wedge community for this event to continue.
A further review of the confirmed bookings will take place no later than 31 March 2025, at which time a final decision on the future of this year’s BBWF will be made.

As far as I recall from the several times I attended Ettington, there were always more people present during daylight on the Saturday than there were for the evening - or rather, overnight, as some like myself stayed till late and then drove home (in my case 200 miles at 1AM Sunday; luckily I don't have one of those famously unreliable TVR kit cars, eh
).
The only time I ever stayed over was when I brought Roger Tallbloke down with a plank up his back and was generously allowed to crash (I won't say sleep because I didn't) on the dog-stinking floor of a pub bedroom while Rog and his mate with a broken arm snored for England in the two creaky singles.
So a lack of hotel bookings doesn't necessarily mean people won't be there... but you have to wonder whether people are re-evaluating things in the light of everything being unecessarily expensive these days

Perhaps people are not booking because the rates that you have negotiated with the hotel are so expensive. Your rates seem to suggest £162 per night for single occupancy, so £324 for two, with £32 each night allowance for dinner, so £64.
If you look at online booking sites, for the same dates, the rate for a double room with breakfast is £188 for two nights, no dinner, so you need to add on £64, that is only £252, versus your rate of £324.

Not sure your mathing correctly there -If you look at online booking sites, for the same dates, the rate for a double room with breakfast is £188 for two nights, no dinner, so you need to add on £64, that is only £252, versus your rate of £324.

My maths are fine!
I can book online for two nights bed and breakfast and pay £188.00 in total, but have nothing towards the cost of dinner, or I can pay £162 per night for 2 nights = £324, but will get an allowance of £32 each night against the dinner bill, which I don't get if I book online.
£324 minus £64 is still £260 against an online price without dinner of £188.00.
My point is, the specially negotiated package is more expensive than booking online for two nights and spending £32 each night on dinner, because £188 plus £64 is £252.00 and the package is £324.00, so who is going to book the TVR package and spend an extra £72.00 over the online booking site price available to anyone.
