Totally agree that it wouldn't reduce crime against property or person. As mentioned above, addicts at the minute steal to fund their habit, why would that change just because they are paying the chemist instead of their dealer.
However, I do think that whilst a blanket legalisation of all drugs would cause other problems, what is your 'police' opinion on legalising cannabis?
I would suggest that cannabis actually reduces anti-social behaviour (as people are too stoned to go out looking for fights). It's much less harmful to users' health than current legal drugs like alcohol and fags. Apart from politicians' fear of being lynched by the red tops, I can't see much point in the current prohibition?
If you had to pay your chemist a couple of quid instead of £50 to your dealer then that would probably change your attitude towards going out and committing crime. In most cases they commit these acts to fund their habit, not because they enjoy it.However, I do think that whilst a blanket legalisation of all drugs would cause other problems, what is your 'police' opinion on legalising cannabis?

Therefore, you still get the black-market of illegal drugs where dealers undercut the local chemist, who has to charge high prices due to the tax and his desire to make a tiny amount of profit.

The additional safety of knowing things aren't cut with Dog food has an inherent value itself to a lot of people. The price point would dictate whether or not people will need a black market. Alcohol is taxed heavily, but few people need to commit crime to fuel alcoholism as it's so cheap and there's only so much they need / can physically take. If drugs were at this price point the market conditions wouldn't exist for a black market.
ore interesting - to me anyway - is this:

I'm not ducking responsibility for the leaking pipe, although I've only been in this flat for a few weeks and it appears to be a pipe under the floorboards - but I'm leaving that side of things in my landlords hands.
What did you do to the gas pipe?Streaky

Except that more people would get addicted, and they wouldn't be limited by cost so they would take more and more (thus becoming useless to society).
yes, of course, this happens to everyone who drinks or smokes too. skinhead85 said:
sorry its a bit of a old thread but say if some one was to have a chrome knuckle duster on his mantle with his name engraved in the front in a display box (making it more of a showpiece) would the police take this off them if they see it.
Do the police have a reason to come to your house?no they dont but for instance the police may need to come in especially due to the line of work im in i am always giving statements in regards to assaults and drugs finds i was wondering if some one saw this item. which although could be used as a weapon placed in a way which clearly would show it as been for show purposes would they take that from me. i have no problems in admitting it could be a weapon but for me its a display piece just like where people have swords

[So to speak.]
im not a violent person i work closely with the police in my job as a security guard on a local hospital but 3 years ago i was almost killed on bike which i had fully customised which included air brushed east end london scene on it so a friend got me the "duster" when i came out of intensive care as a tribute to the bike and a reminder that i do not belong on one
To the OP, why not just buy a new bong ? Most newsagents who sell pipes, sell them. I have seen shops with entire window displays full of bongs.
Personally I just dont see the harm of using one in your own home although I thought you also used one to smoke flavourered tobacco which is entirely legal ?

I think the point was that this wasn't just a cheapy bong from the newsagents, this was made by Roor so it was probably quite expensive. Their models start at about £50 and go up to £500, if i'd just lost my £500 bong i think i'd be quite eager to have it back.Personally I just dont see the harm of using one in your own home although I thought you also used one to smoke flavourered tobacco which is entirely legal ?
