£80 footballs don't exist, your parents were robbed. More fool them for paying.
They do exist

In 2017 they exist, my guess is when I was young means 20-30 years ago, I doubt they existed then

Bad luck that your parents didn't believe you but your experience is hardly typical.

Get over it.

They did believe me, but they made me pay for one anyway.

1994 and of course they did.

Adidas Predator football boots in 2017 cost £100.

Adidas Predator football boots in 1994 cost £100 https://www.theguardian.com/football/when-saturday...

Ergo football then cost £80 costs £80 now.

I trust you can understand why people find this so hard to believe? One might with a stretch of credulity accept such insane behaviour from one person, but from two people at the same time? But perhaps the nutty one was dominating the other one.

+1

Your parents sound completely deranged.

"We know you didn't do it Son, but we want to punish you anyway just for the fun of it"

Looking at this from the parents side, what would be a suitable punishment for the kid?

Answering every request for money for anything apart from essentials he was going to get anyway with "no chance, you haven't finished paying us back for that man's Porsche yet"...for about 18 months.

Sorry been away for the F1 and not been on here.

The Wife is dealing with this now.

The car has been into porsche and been fixed and paid for by us.

The Policeman is trying to be the go between, he has taken it up on himself to try and resolve this without the kid getting a record by the looks of it, it has been very frustrating to be honest.

By the looks of it it is the kids farther that is being a bit of a Cock ! It is him who wanted proof the car was not damaged, he then wanted to see the Quote from Porsche which we gave him, then he wanted to see the invoice we had paid to make sure we had the work done!

He has now come back saying that he will pay but not for the car wash Porsche did when it was in to be fixed !! but the best bit is A: it was to wash the kid's foot prints off and B: it was complimentary !

He has also contacted Porsche to check we have had the work done, but due to data protection they will not tell him.

He is now proposing to pay in 3 installments via bank transfer which the wife has agreed to, i don't really agree with it, i think we have been more than fair and the lads dad is just dragging it out.

Lets wait and see what happens.

I will keep the thread updated as and when,

Did you get that in writing? At least then you can pursue if he does 'forget'!

Give him the B of the D and accept. You'll get something at least.
