Most outrageous service cost?
Discussion
First service due on the derv TT (Yes I know - how very PH!) so booked it in with the local dealer. Inspection 1 service so only parts changed are oil and filter. Obviously they will spend hours meticulously checking every moving part bit still blown away at the price....
....£454.40.
(plus £31.35 if the pollen filter is changed).
Anyone beat this for such humdrumness?

Pretty bad although I'm just booking my Bentley Continental v8s in for its first service.
Same essence as your TT but its.......£1075 inc parts!!!!
Yes, I know, if you can afford the car, you can afford the service but no one likes having mick taken out of them.
Its endemic to every brand these days. I think the £150 service are long gone in the franchise world.

Local specialist indy is £139 using genuine parts. Audi apparently price match. I'm awaiting confirmation that the dealer will do so (and expecting some vague excuse as to why not). I hate that they can get away with such blatant inflation of costs! If they do match it I'm inclined to buy the indy a crate of beer to alleviate my guilt at not supporting them!

Is this the VAG variable mileage stuff?
I've just paid £613 for the 60K mile service on my GT86, primarily because it involves a spark plug change - which on a Boxer engine is a royal pain in the rear (I believe the engine has to be lifted and partially disassembled in order to do it). But that price also included oil/filter, air filter, cabin filter, brake fluid change, differential oil change and a full wheel alignment, all from a trusted independent.
It was a book time of 3.4 hours, and I had been expecting this service to be expensive, but it's looking decidedly cheap compared to £450 for an oil change

I've owned 3 Subaru 2.0 engines. I'm sure it's not that fiddly. Unless Toyota inserts the engine upside down and sideways. It was a book time of 3.4 hours, and I had been expecting this service to be expensive, but it's looking decidedly cheap compared to £450 for an oil change

Aston, £1350 for an oil change, yes quite literally.
Did you tell them to fk off? I could be as rich as Bill Gates but even then I'd be miffed at that - I appreciate that a hulking great V8 or V12 will need a good dose of oil, but that's criminal.I have never had any real surprises in honesty, I did most of the work myself on the cars that I have owned previously, I currently have a Civic Type R and Honda were doing three services for five hundred quid - it's on a PCP agreement so it'll probably only see two of those (crafty of them) but I took it on anyway (not adding it to the financed amount of course) as there's always the off chance that I keep the car longer than the three year agreement (which, as it stands, I probably will) so I'll eek another service out of 'em!
