Trailer wheel fell off - who's to blame?

If I were towing a trailer full of gravel and some was dropping onto the road occasionally through a small gap in the tailgate and one of these stones bounced up and broke the following vehicle's screen then I would consider that my responsibility.
What if it bounced up and hit a person. Took their eye out. And they were a pilot. Could never work again, and hit you with a loss of earnings claim for over £1m. Are you going to accept responsibility then. Even if your insurers refused to pay due to lack of negligence? TwigtheWonderkid said:

What I would like is that my insurance accept liability on my behalf and pay out if that scenario (injured pilot) existed.
As it is, because I adopt the attitude I do, I make sure I do my utmost not to risk putting myself in situations where my perceived negligence could unnecessarily affect others. So stones will not be falling off my trailer in the first place and nor will any of my trees be falling on a neighbours's car.

If my property is damaged by someone else's negligence, then their insurers pay me. If my property is damaged and it's no one else's fault, it's down to me to pay myself or claim off my own insurance.

Brokenbiscuit hasn't posted since the beginning... and it was his mate anyway
And here you 4 main protagonists are arguing about a scenario which has nothing to do with you...
odd
