Heading up the M5 today saw this...
Thought it may be a DB11, except it had no DB11 type aero at the back, seemed shorter overhangs, and generally shorter overall.
The interior had a tablet type display coming out the dash, but looked different to the DB11 ( which I test drove Saturday)
The rear was much wider than the front, and the general look was more Vantage ( well DB10 actually) than the larger DB11.
There was a small lip spoiler on the rear, bit like a boxsters, although it did not go up and down with speed - down to 40 mph in the road works.
However I was driving and with the camoflage was hard to see the detail.
Reg was KU66 YDD - not much detail on DVLA checker other than Aston Martin and Black..

Looks the same as the one spotted at the Nürburgring back in April, although that one had a slightly different plate - KU66 YDA. Visually pretty similar to the DB11, but shorter wheelbase and a bit more compact looking overall. Not sure if it gives us any real clues as to what the new Vantage will look like unfortunately, other than the general proportions.

They aren't going to run the car around with the actual body panels on it until they're closer to unveiling it. Right now they're testing everything under the skin, so the skin doesn't matter. They could be driving around the chassis, engine, gearbox, electronics, suspension, etc etc etc in a box van body and it'd not matter for this stage of testing.
Overheard last year on the Aston stand at Burghley. An AML employee said the Vantage development cars are being made to resemble the DB11.
I was also given a hint at St. Athan, that the next Vantage might have a DB10 type front design, ie. with the top part leaning forward.
Perhaps my look of disappointment was noticed, because there was then a comment about the forward leaning grille having been used on Aston models in the past.
We shall see in due course.
Not my favourite Aston Martin front, but perhaps I may be the odd one out.

I would think the shape of the front is dictated by pedestrian impact safety standards. So that shark nose DB10 may not meet it. Most new cars have almost vertically front noses.I was also given a hint at St. Athan, that the next Vantage might have a DB10 type front design, ie. with the top part leaning forward.

As noted above, the test mules being spotted out and about appear to be wearing DB11 clothes still. There's not much concrete information available, but those privvy to it have seen something approaching the finished article in the back room at Gaydon (not me personally), along with other projects, but the description of it went something like:
Cross a Vulcan with a DB10, and add a ducktail spoiler similar to the current Vantage S (but slightly larger). The other details are all well known in terms of powertrain etc.
Time will tell I suppose, but it sounds promising. The AMG 4.0 lump is one of a very small group of turbocharged powerplants that hasn't lost the sound associated with a N/A powerplant. An 8 speed ZF / manual option, and some whispers of a N/A engine option (V12 I would expect). Job's a good'un.

Not sure if these pictures have been posted on here before but you can see from the first spy shot that the front 'potentially' has a shark nose slant to it. Also found some renders that someone has made using the test mule as a best guess as to how it might look. I really hope it doesn't look like this, not enough beauty or drama about it.
The vantage has always been the prettiest Aston to my eyes, perfect proportions and even after all these years it still looks as beautiful as it did the first time I saw the concept way back in 2003. I've missed my 07 Vantage ever since selling it and have been waiting to see if Aston can take everything I love about the current Vantage and give it a new generation look and feel that pulls at the heart strings again and makes me think about returning to the brand. I can even look past a turbo merc engine if the car is stunning to look

Personally, I hope it looks nothing like that render! If it does, then I think Aston will have missed the mark with the re-design by a long shot. That render reminds me of what Audi did with the Mk2 TT - taking the near perfect design of the Mk1 and turning it into another dull, generic looking Audi. I never look twice at a Mk2 or Mk3 TT on the road, but the Mk1 still makes me look every time I see one.
Front end treatment aside, I think the DB10 design is sharp, well balanced and fairly free of uncessary design details, so hoping the new Vantage doesn't stray too far away from this.
