11m x 4m outdoor swimming pool in 3 weeks (with paving)
Discussion
For anyone who is interested I am starting an outdoor swimming pool instillation tomorrow, to be completed in 3 weeks.
A fellow PHer is making this possible, I managed to obtain (at stupid expense) an 11m x 4m shell of very high quality (including an electric slatted solar cover that can take 100kg of weight) with Roman style steps and additional lighting added before transit.
It will arrive on Wednesday and the ground will be broken tomorrow. The pool will be put into place (hopefully) next Monday. Then the filling and back filling will start whilst the plumbing and electricity is finished. After that there is the landscaping, which is pretty much paving slabs and however much my wife can spend on loungers, furniture and plants without me noticing!
I aim to post a photo story here for anyone interested in this. I did the same on AVForum a few years ago when I did a cinema build in 1 week. If anyone wants to see that give me a shout and I'll re-post here.
Photos below of how it looks right now...
The canes are marking out where the pool will be.
Cheers

Thanks all:
- The tree house is being relocated - my daughter was very strict on that!
- Good idea re the time lapse filming John, are you volunteering!
- Heating is a mixture of a high end slatted solar cover, an air source pump and an in line electric heater (we can't get gas into position in time).
- I'll post development pics every day there is something to show.
- Link to the home cinema build is here:

It was 5 years ago, hence the choice of some equipment looking dated now even though it was relatively high end at the time.
Cheers!
