hi all,
asking for a friend (no ,really, I'm a suzuki man), he's spotted this 2005 zx636 with 1800 miles on it at a dealer, we've been to take a look at the bike and it is as mint as the mileage would suggest. But, I'm a bit sceptical about the price. I think its a bit on the high side for a 12 year old bike even though its ridiculous low miles, Interested to know your thoughts

Haha. That's ridiculous. 3k max.

I'm sure there were really special deals on those to sell them back in the day. I think you could get one brand new for 5.5 - 6K

I bought one back in 09 and paid 4.something

As odd as it is, I think there's probably a few used bikes which have sold for more than what they were bought for new. You only have to look at used prices to see that people have hardly lost anything on 10 year old machines. For example, a KTM 990 SMT in 2011 I think was £7495. Theyre on ebay now from dealers at the same price!

I've actually been a bit lucky along the way over the last few years, losing nothing on a couple of bikes after 12 months ownership, making a profit on 2 of them (combined of nearly £1000) and only a slight loss on another. The rising new values keeps the used ones buoyant.

Looks great condition, but very expensive.

Those underseat Kwaks do seem popular. I've seen much higher mileage ones go for £3500, but I still think that's too much for that one.
