Recommend me an Xbox One game.
Discussion
As above really.
I used to be really into my games but family commitments etc have meant I’ve pretty much given up these days. If I do play I get 30mins at a go so I’ve tended to go for fast placed, simple games like Forza where I can pick it up, have a couple of races and put it down again.
Anyway, my Wife is taking our Eldest to NYC to see her sister and left me holding the baby – 12 nights, Daughter goes to bed at 18:30 and I’m housebound till the morning.
Son’s got an Xbox One (s) – after a slow paced, action game I can waste my evenings on, I’ve so out of touch it doesn’t need to be the latest thing, a year old game for £20 would be just as good as the latest AAA title for £60 or whatever they cost these days.
I’m a serial Rockstar fan, played all the GTA games, Red Dead etc, but doesn’t need to be Rockstar or sandbox, just not nosebleed fast repetitive shooter like COD.

Strategic; XCOM2.
You will die a lot, but it's engrossing.
For something a bit quicker, have a look at Dishonored 2.
First person steath 'em up at first glance, but it's rather more than that. Can be played many ways, has depth that many lack and some of the best level design I've ever seen.
(Actually, the original dishonoured has been remastered for Xbox one and might be worth a look)

Slow paced immediately brings to mind Fallout, Assassins Creed, Skyrim or Mass Effect.
The games I've most enjoyed in a year of xbox ownership are Gears of War 4 and Titanfall 2, but expect they are a bit too short and fast paced for what you want.
Rocket League is a curevball recommendation, it's what I play the most as 30mins - 1hour gives you plenty of entertainment in a short burst. And its cheap to download too.

I second Hitman; it's all I've basically played for the last 6 months! Still mopping up all the missions/achievements on Colorado and Japan - rest of my game is 100%.
Another recommendation would be Deus Ex Mankind Divided; I think it's on sale with all its DLCs (3 extra missions - well worth it) right now.

2nd this. The first or 2nd are great, the turn based nature of it doesn't slow down the game play if you're used to real time and the progression and hopelessness of the second game really makes for a great atmosphere, the first was against comic 50's Americana style aliens, this one is against a dystopian future alien master race with superior numbers and global control, it makes for a better more intense setting and when you learn the ambush mechanic with a full squad on overwatch, it's glorious and being inferior in numbers and tech just evaporate. You will die a lot, but it's engrossing.
Sign up for the Xbox games pass - its free for the first 14 days (9.99 a month and can be canceled at any time) Will give you access to 100 odd games to play from the past 5 years - so you can play a few of them and see what you like.
Would start with the Bioshock games an then go from there.

You might want to try Assassin's Creed Unity for 89 pence - not the best game out there, but for the price worth a dabble.
