Why not jump start it and take it for an MOT ?
The MOT may cost it much more than it's worth... and looking at the comments here, looks like even with an MOT it may not be worth much more

...especially once you've insured it so you CAN take it for the test...

Yes, you might flog it through eBay - but think about the kind of person who's going to be interested.

What makes you think that?

But, yes even running and with a new MOT it's still only a few hundred pound car so it's a bit of a gamble whatever you do.

Why not on Autotrader? They seem to have a free service for cars under a grand

Any feedback on using Autotrader to sell this?

They have a free service for cars under a thousand, and I'm wondering if the people who look for cars on Autotrader might be easier to deal with than the eBay/FB crowd

Gumtree is the best place to advertise cars (in my experience). I advertised a Fiesta on Saturday evening at 10pm and it was collected and paid for at 9:30am yesterday.
Nobody uses Autotrader for bangers.
If you can get the thing running chances are someone will drive it away. Just make sure you give them a receipt showing date and time and keep a signed copy for yourself! You can do the V5 transfer online now as well (between 7am and 7pm).
