All day everyday in Germany and the world is still turning.
Quite, on their much better roads. Despite this, more of them die on their roads so I'm not sure we should look at Germany for our road safety strategy. And out of the nine or so countries that surround them, only the Netherlands have fewer deaths. This despite their roads being criss crossed every day by tens of thousands of foreign drivers and cars travelling at high speeds, safely.
Like Vonhosen you really just hate it when people dare to ignore your petty rules.

2) I don't hate it, I couldn't give a toss.
3) I do laugh at the tin foil hatism about it all though.
So it's more amusing than anything.
The problem is, there's people that can do 136mph on a public road, and there's people who can do 136mph road (reasonably) safely. There are not all that many of the latter.
I would not class myself in the latter category. A lot of people, however, would, and in most cases wrongly.
I know we will shortly get the "what if he was a qualified racing driver" cobblers posted though, so it's a pointless argument.
I know the M60 very well, I don't like the idea of people doing that speed on it. Sorry.

To be fair, recent history has seen the Germans introduce some iffy concepts and only become convinced after millions of people die before they see the error of their ways. Seems that thinking is still in their make-up as far as speed is concerned. Maybe they like to have their liberties preserved even though it is obviously risky, a bit like the Americans with their gun law...or lack of it.
They myth of unlimited speed on German autobahns still continues !
Most of the autobahns do have limits , those that don't have a recommended speed of 130 kph ,many have limits for certain weather conditions .
The German police will pull you if they think you are driving not in accordance with the weather conditions ,road conditions or traffic flow .

To be fair, in a modern performance car, 136 mph feels not a lot different from 90 mph.
Last time I looked, performance and non performance cars have the same windows (and physics). A 50% uplift in speed from 90mph to 136mph feels massively different in pretty anything. Helicopter123 said:

I can see how this could happen on an empty road.
Hmm, but it wasn't an empty road and it was dark; also, while it's difficult to tell from video, the road doesn't look bone dry either. I accept that particular section of the motorway was lit but even so I think it's a difficult offence to defend....I can see how this could happen on an empty road.

Having driven at speeds of up to about 150mph in Germany in various high performance cars, I found a big difference between 90mph and 140mph.
Totally, I actually found it quite mentally challenging at those sort of speeds. I was far more comfortable at slower speeds.Helicopter123 said:

What a load of crock. As an advanced Police driver who works on the m/way, 136mph is significantly different to 90mph. I can see how this could happen on an empty road.
You might be a driving good, but the 90% of people who are oblivious to anything around them while they sit in lane 2 can not react or anticipate a car moving at that speed
