Why have these not been banned? Why have the idiots wearing them not been arrested for impersonating a copper?

So, it's clear what the intention is, they should be banned. It's like me painting my car panda colours and sticking polite instead of police down the car, you're only looking for one thing and you don't deserve it

Why are you talking about something from 3 years ago, or do a quick search and find the original thread?

If a motorist momentarily thinks he/she sees a copper and stops driving like a twunt, this is good. The bibs do no harm and may do some good. See also : Polite Notice - No Parking.

It's not something from three years ago, these jackets are still worn all over the place? Why are they still allowed?

Why are you so angry about a traffic calming measure? It's just a way to get motorists to notice bikers (pedalled or powered). Not being seen by car and lorry drivers is a major cause of bike fatalities and injuries.

I bike everyday into the capital and see these guys often, and I actually feel embarrassed for them!

Where's the harm? Once you are close enough it's clear they aren't the police. If a driver notices them earlier and slows down a bit what's the problem?

I think I would rather be knocked off my bike than wear one.

I saw one last week; had to brake so hard I spilled my beer. These people are a menace on our roads.

Why is seeing what you think is a Police vehicle such an issue for you?

Yes - people who wear these are a bit 'special', but it really isn't a problem is it?.

I bike (power not pedal). I wouldn't wear one of these bibs but I see no harm in them. If they make a driver brake suddenly, the problem lies with the driver. Slow the fk down!

Chav! Real PH'ers only drink Martinis or Krug when driving.

I see one on the motorway (motorcyclist) sometimes. Given his standard of driving, you'd have to be a bit dim to mistake him for a copper. I do wonder if he feels he needs one because he puts himself in foolish situations though.

You see these people occasionally, and they are usually riding in a way that would suggest they might otherwise be driving a car!! Sitting in traffic like cars, never filtering even when it's safe.!! Quite funny really.

I understand the point, and I get it. But this would be accompanied by a white bike in remarkably similar police colours and style. So you have to wonder.

But having ridden a bike in all weathers for a year or so, I don't think doing this would really make any difference.

I had numerous incidents in that time, some of which were my own fault, but some of which were caused by people who would never have seen you no matter if you were wearing one of these or stark naked.

It's the reason why I would never ride these days other than off road or on tracks.

For me, just too risky with what you are faced with on a daily basis on our roads. Fair play to those that do.

Horse cyclists wear them too, I beep the horn for extra long in that case!

I don't see how anyone can have a problem with them? It's a high vis jacket/bib with a word written on it.

Does it affect your life in ANY WAY? I mean, does it actually stop you from doing something? Feeling something? Going out for a good time with a loved one? Even just sat at home with your feet up watching the TV or reading a book?

Write down the reason on a postcard and post it to:

a Think Bike sticker in a car is usually accompanied by some crap and anti social driving.

There was one of these twunts on my commute over the Forth Bridge. Polite hi-vis and BMW with white fairing. It wasn't so much his fantasy costume that annoyed the hell out of me, it was the deliberate blocking of anyone filtering that got me miffed. Bloody Road Captain.
