Not directed at you at all, just related to the discussion about personalised plates in general. I've got no problem with them personally.

Reminds me of the beautiful green Boxer I saw at Goodwood a few years ago with the plate COP5E I think it was.

I took it to relate to a corner at certain English circuit rather than the police.

And silly.

It's bad enough on an Audi appliance. On something as drop-dead luscious as that... No. It's not like you'll forget which 512BB is yours in Tesco's car park, is it?

Not all. There's a 5 in each of 'em.

But they’re not necessarily in the same order.

That's being unfair to pram owners.

The "umbrella on wheels" designed for French peasants to carry farm produce to market/ carry a box of eggs (unbroken) across a ploughed field is clearly an acquired taste.

Each to their own - but I'd rather eat my own hair.

Much fun on this thread, and sounds like a good outcome. Two points re the wrong stroke measurements from your digital calipers:

First, there's a yellow ZERO button. Close the calipers right up and press that to zero the reading!
And second, there's a conventional ruler scale. You can sanity check the digital readout by looking at that. (The stroke height measurement photo looks like it's reading over 80 on the normal scale....)

Personally I like the number and it's history, but not a fan of the small plate for it. Each to their own, otherwise it'd be boring here.

I would like to hear the response from the officer who issued the ticket once the OP has received a reply to his email.

As for those moaning about small number plates, my take on it is this:

Number plates are hideously ugly pieces of garish plastic that we are forced to screw to the exterior of our cars, ruining the looks of the vehicle, especially at the front.

It is for this reason that I usually install either cut down, or smaller than legal plates, because the smaller the size of the ugly plastic adornment the better.

I know it is illegal, yet I simply do not care, I will happily pay the fine if I ever recieve one.

It's important to get the model designation correct.

I so love eared spinners.
