It's here for anyone who wants the relevant legislation.

Regulation K5 for the '87 scheme.

Those who will end up working to 60 will be in the 2006/2015 schemes and the golden handcuff element doesn't exist in those schemes.
Not strictly true. As the 1987 scheme still exists, but has been frozen. I have 17 years locked into that scheme which is still final salary linked.
But the time I retire after 40 years service I’ll have 17 years of the ‘87 scheme and 23 on the 2015 scheme.
I currently have 20 years in and as each year passes I feel more compelled to stay.
How do you have 17 years in a scheme that finished in 2006 but only 20 years service 12 years later and still in the job?

The '87 scheme didn't finish in 2006 - it was just closed to new entrants.

It "finished" in 2012 unless you are protected/ benefit from tapering.

I agree though, those figures/ dates still don't appear to stack up.scratchchin

Not a hater, just someone who understand the economics and (lack of) sustainability of the system.

I may have pointed sidicks in this direction.

Sorry.

He's losing traction on the other pension threads and I just felt he needs to maintain his anger and fury.

One day, his head will explode. And that will be the end of that.

I've no idea about the question the OP raised, so won't be commenting on that. I will be commenting if certain other people which to state blatant lies or if there are other misunderstandings about pensions.

I propose sidicks has his/her very own sub forum which is dedicated to pensions. Lots of advantages to be had from such a thing.

Yeah, a cure for insomnia for a start.

He is very, very angry though and takes the bait without hesitation.. It's pure comedy gold.

I've made no such claims. You have lied about police pensions though. Proof is available for those that want to find it, but I have no intention of digging that up again, unless you carry on as above.

Just curious, but we sometimes hear about police officers who have been sacked have lost their pension. How does that work, as at least a proportion of it is a salary deduction rather than an employers contribution?

To reassure you, I’m not a police officer and I’m not in the crap!

I am asking you a question. A question normally necessitates an answer. Yes or no will do. Are the cops who have posted right or wrong in their summary?

You may need to actually read the thread first though as you said previously you hadn't. Is forfeiture of DB pensions another area of your expertise?
