I have never heard of any insurance co that will cover your own damage if prosecuted and convicted of drink driving, further, their is a good chance they will come chasing you to recover their 3rd party outlay which they are obliged to cover.

please can someone post some t &c's to back up their assertions.

OP AGTlaw has already posted some free information for you, have you thought to try and contact him about this, if you are expecting to sort this without spending any money you are doomed from the start.
Most insurers cover it. Unless they explicitly say they don’t such as the examples I’ve posted previously then you’re covered.

Thank you for the mention but it’s not something I would take on.

Many solicitors will give at least a basic level of initial advice free of charge. That advice will be far better than something you read on an internet forum.

Usual caveat about avoiding unscrupulous ‘national’ solicitors with only one office.

Assuming this isn't just all a wind-up & he has actually spoken to genuine real legal professionals I do wonder if they may be telling him things he doesn't want to hear.

It’s a windup he’s been called out as a troll by quite a few on the Polish forum, that he posted a similar but slightly different story on. It looks like they were swamped by a few trolls in a short space of time, as the discussion goes onto identifying the IP addresses of those starting the threads.

See below. However, I’ve offered to help you twice for free and I will succeed if you take me up on the offer. All I have asked for is one simple piece of proof, that being a photo uploaded on here of the letter from Hastings denying your claim, you can delete the personal details. You’ve not provided this despite me asking a couple of times, so I’m calling troll.

Here’s your post from this Polish forum translated into English (excuse the google translate). Interesting how pretty much every reply calls you a troll. Or is it just a massive coincidence, including your username?

Hello, some time ago, the wife had an accident fell behind the wheel and in the end faced with a car from the opposite direction. On the scene of the accident, a 0.50 balloon was injected, that is 0.15 too much, but after testing the blood the result came in a limit of 0.50 miles and the acceptable amount in blood is 0.80. Unfortunately, the insurer refused to pay insurance because he said the accident was caused by alcohol. The police did not initiate proceedings against my wife because she was in the limit so there will be no case in the court. Probably will get 6 points and some ticket for ::: careless driving ::: the decision has not been taken
In terms and condition of my insurance is the subsection: if driving while unfit through alcohol, drugs or other substances whetever prescried or not ::: and that is just the sub-paragraph they have ousted insurance payments
The question is if they can do something if the police did not make a case for a drunken alcohol and was in the limit, please help

And still you deny it.

It’s hardly a private letter, when I’ve said you can hide all personal details. Other than those details it will be a standard template letter. It’s simple, that letter with all your personal details missing will prove you’re telling the truth and that I (amd quite a few others) are muppeds (sic). Somehow, I doubt you will post it, mainly because it doesn’t exist in the way you’re claiming it does.

Took him less than 15mins to go to the polish website that was linked (and he denied being him) and have a rant on there.
