Chamber of commerce - worth it?
Discussion
the ones I have seen have had mixed value...
in some small towns they have been great at co-ordinating town-wide tourism / retail drives
equally they can be full of people who find it hard to build a vision beyond selling to each other...
no real advantage for us, other members are not our target client...

Thats my concern. We sell relatively low cost, high volume items B2C. I feel that it would be a long burn, scatter gun approach to generating enquiries through members. Are there any other benefits I'm missing? It might be worth asking them to explain how it will benefit your specific business...
in some areas they can be great, in others, terrible - just depends on those involved...
We joined, arranged a email shot to all members announcing us as new members and landed our biggest client who was looking for a Shopify agency - just luck I guess but its another iron in the fire.
With regard to business help, not so much but we got a ex bank manager to sanity check our business plan which was useful for free.
