Nope, no news.

Think I was foolishly (desperately! ) hoping for the guy to come good.

Still offloading a few bags of sand + I do have some tasty Mars bars to get through.

I'd report him to eBay either way, he's contravened eBay rules buy selling it via messages etc

been reading up all of this! Am Irish myself (not far from Limerick!) so feel for the OP - no point saying this now but every car for sale I would treat each and everything said by a seller to be false and the onus is on the buyer to do due diligence to show that is not the case.

i think you also need a CoC cert for the car (Irish to UK) so thats another negative I guess for prospective buyers here.

hopefully the OP has some recourse with getting his cash back, also it could be worse than popping onto the motoring forum of boards.ie and seeing what folk say, there are plenty honest people in Ireland too in the same way there are dodge in England.

OP - all the best in getting to an end solution that works out for you.

Sometimes you take a risk and trust a seller and on occasion you get burnt. It's a real shame that this has happened to you.

If it is as bad as you think it is, my meaningless advice is, break it/sell it/get rid, put it down to experience, buy something else and enjoy it.

For every honest, genuine seller, I'm sure there are at least 50 b*llends, so try to carry our due diligence and avoid the scum.

It seems like there are some enthusiasts that know the cost, listen to their sage advice and get rid!

Hope it all works out mate and all the best.

Maximum kudos for irony and taking the flak that you have over the last 5 years.

Op, any recent personal tragedy in your life (other than the car purchase)?

Maybe give car SOS a call.

I wonder If op would even get £500 for the car if sold as is.

That other scrapper turquoise has not sold and it’s up for under half what he paid and no bites.

Not a bad idea, OP contact Edd China, his new show is dedicated to fixing up projects. Assuming there will be a second episode that is. I bet Mike Brewer is keeping a close eye hoping the whole project fails, while getting a happy ending massage from that American mechanic twink

Very much so - the Mrs would go bananas if I bought a heap like that for £9.8k
