Hi All,

So I've noticed a bit of a recurring issue with my 2013 CGT Speed...

A few times after I have left the car outside in the rain, when I have gone to open the boot I then get a torrent of water running INTO the boot of the car.

What appears to be happening is that there is water that is sitting around the boot lid itself somewhere and when I open the boot this water then slides down the back of the boot lid, hits the rear windscreen and then runs down around the side of the boot seals, and sometimes into the boot if it is been particularly bad weather. It looks as though the water is possibly being held behind the retractable spoiler?

I have two theories:
1) Either this is some monumental design error. In which case I would assume others have experienced this.
2) There is some sort of drainage area which is blocked?

Welcome any thoughts / experience of others.

Cheers!

p.s. the car is garaged generally, so this only occurs when out and about.

Drain holes under the spoiler blocked was the issue I had on my '04 GT.

Totally agree. The area under the spoiler traps a lot of muck and if the drain holes block it holds water that is emptied when the boot opens.

A good clean under the spoiler should fix it.

Same thing has happened to me.
Also check and clear the drain hole under the fuel filler cap. A blast of compressed air at the garage usually does the trick.
