Update:
So I had a voluntary interview today and I have managed to avoid being cautioned. It was decided this would be dealt with by 'conditional community resolution'. The condition being I attend an interview with a drug awareness professional.
Lucky boy.
Thankyou to all who replied.
A restorative justice disposal. That seems a proportionate outcome. So I had a voluntary interview today and I have managed to avoid being cautioned. If you accept the caution, you'll struggle with CTC level and above security clearance in future
Thats bks.I have an impressive "CV" and still got SC clearance.
You do have to fess up your sins though.
You can pretty much forget about getting a USA visa though.

to work or holiday?
Part of the declaration for an ESTA is "Have you ever violated any law related to possessing, using, or distributing illegal drugs?". Doesn't ask if 'convicted', only violated. If you tick yes to this then you need a visa. Whether one would get a visa is questionable, and if one did whether one would be let in at the immigration desk is also questionable.Chris AR said:

For such a small amount seems like a big waste of everyone's time.
Can you tell us how/why they took you to the disabled loo, did the club security report you?

on the caution thing - not sure if all cautions are considered equal?
I passed a Investment bank security testing for a decent level job in the same year I had a caution.
didn't make any difference to my life whatsoever
I mean it came up in the interview, I was honest and declared it and explained it and they hired me.
That’s the bank looking at the caution and coming to the conclusion that they will hire you anyway. If it had been a funding of guilt in court, would the bank have made the same decision? Who knows. I passed a Investment bank security testing for a decent level job in the same year I had a caution.

IMHO a lot of cautions are given where the police don’t have the evidence or resources to send it to court. So if offered a caution - which appears on your criminal record - it would often be in your interests to refuse the caution and invite them to prosecute.
I believe there was a thing also where a caution is not a conviction its not subject to the same rules of rehabilitation (i.e it can stay on the system longer and be disclosed for a longer period of time for CRB/DBS checks). which for some peopel can be worse than a conviction in the long term.
