VeeFource, I see it as you 'defended' your position and ended up arguing with an idiot and losing. Now you want to punish him for it. You know it won't change his behaviour, we all know you can't fix stupid.
But look at it this way:
If you had let the van past, you could have avoided the whole situation and the idiot would have been someone else's problem, but instead you chose to stand your ground. You could see this as fair or right, but I see it as failing to be the more mature person. You could have de-escalated the situation, but you chose not to.
Generally in life, if the words "why should I...?" come into mind, it should act as a trigger to reflect on one's own decision making.
But look at it this way:

Post up the video! Show us the preceeding few mins and how busy the middle lane was we can then make an educated suggestion for you. For all we know van is making an emergency lane change to avoid sudden obstacle/debris or is simply pulling into a poorly judged gap.

Do you move over to let everyone who comes up behind you past when you're in a queue of traffic? If so I'd imagine you'd never get out of the inside lane on a road like the M6.But look at it this way:

But it doesn't mean I'm going to live in the inside lane doing 56mph for every busy motorway journey like berlintaxi does. Or smile at the chap who's decided he's next at the checkout in Tesco's.
I had a similar occurrence the other day, Golf R, undertaking pulling back into the outside lane where there was very little gap.
I was stuck in a queue waiting to get past an HGV, I could see him chuntering whilst being held up.
He got there first but I think I had the more relaxed journey. Relax and let it go. Getting worked up means he got in front AND wound you up.

If I can move over, then I probably already have. I generally try not to add to the queue. Doesn't add any time to a journey to just relax a little in traffic, life is too short to get het up about these things, just wish I learned that when I was younger.berlintaxi said:
