Of course there was the PH'ers Supercharged Aygo from a few years ago; how easy is a supercharger to fit i.e does it need the block etc adapting.

Can you tune these to breath better without going through the 2k+ spend of a supercharger?

Because you be creating a fun car with a sleeper element to it.

You wouldn't expect an Aygo to give a hot hatch a run from the lights, you wouldn't expect the noise of a charger when it accelerates etc.

I think it's a great idea and will end up with a quick car with go kart handling and shopping car looks.

I'm not clued up on the Aygo but having been involved with celicas for years it seems like rotrex make generic type chargers which can (with some modifications be fitted to various different cars)

Watching with interest

I put the back seats down in mine when I plan a few traffic light drags runs.

Surely if it’s a PCP, you can’t do any modifications?

I didn't go the PCP route in the end. Partly because the handback figure suddenly dropped at the dealers so I walked.

Petrol etc is only going to become more expensive.

To why? I'm a massive fan of kei cars.

I drove the Aygo over 1400miles last week taking in Paris, Ardennes, Bruges etc.

Why? Because I can. smile

No, just supply only.

TTS appear to be the only authorised distributor for the Rotrex superchargers for the Aygo.

AT Power do an Individual Throttle body kit for the Aygo, I guess the most you would get without changing cams would probably be 90 bhp but I bet it would sound pretty good.
I have got a Bilstein B12 prokit waiting to go on my Aygo for even more fun in the corners.

Of course. Lowering the centre of gravity. Vital.

This sounds interesting.

I have looked into the throttle bodies and as far as I can tell it would need a standalone ecu, where as the supercharger I think you can get away with a piggy back ecu to handle fuelling. The throttle bodies on there own are a grand + ecu + mapping + install if you need someone to do it will probably be almost as costly as the supercharger route. (I have not written off the idea though). Is the Aygo in question a first generation, 2005-20014?

Regarding your initial question about bolt on breathing mods I have a powerflow cat back exhaust which I got for the sound, it sounds nice and old school raspy rather than chav cannon loud and a pipercross panel filter, Denso iridium plugs and notice no difference in power tbh. It is getting a Quantum remap next week but realistically I am not expecting much power gains, 5bhp? It should smooth out the delivery a bit. I do find that it seems to appreciate running on v power. The most I have seen "claimed" by people with bolt ons and a map is 80 to an optimistic sounding 85 bhp.

It sounds ridiculous but I'd say my current c1 already has too much power for the chassis to handle, with such roly poly suspension and skinny tyres it would need serious chassis and tyre upgrades to handle any more power.

In the near future I have some wider 14 x 5.5 light(ish) wheels with 165 tyres and Bilstein B12 suspension going on. It will be interesting to see how more capable it feels.

My intention is to try and recreate a sort of modern AX GT! The next thing on list may have to be a solution to the long and badly spaced gearing on post 2009 models.
