my motto is if in doubt pass it out. All them useless drivers are a menace and staying behind them will only heighten the chance of an accident
That makes as much sense as your "motto" (which sounds a bit "I-really-want-to-be-an-American" to me...., or perhaps something a doctor would say to the regularly constipated) - how would staying behind them increase the chances of an accident? The only way that could be true is if YOU hit THEM. or you tailgate and bully them into an error, either way is your fault.

In fact overtaking and being in front of them increases the chances you will be involved in an accident with them, because you've placed yourself in their path.

However aside from being totally wrong your logic is spot on.

It's an interesting point that. A similar point, or punt if you like, may apply to those who make serial and hyperbolic complaints about truck elephant racing. Clearly I can't apply this to those making comments online, but experience from those who moan about it in real life tells me that they're very often the same types who are poor at time management, don't plan their time important journeys with any degree of time safety margin allowance, are often late or last minute departure merchants, see time management comment, then rely on being able to travel over permitted limits in order to 'pull back time.' Then they make up twaddle like "I was held up by two trucks racing for 25 miles" an actual quote from someone who'd previously wasted an hour chattering about nothing much plus surfing the internet.
These are the people who get up in the morning, go to bed at night and blame everybody else for all that happens in between.

Two points if I may firstly how does staying behind a "slow" driver cause an accident?
Secondly why should other vehicles overtake just because you feel they should. People have already pointed out your failings in that respect, so are you really the person to judge what is a safe overtake?

Overtaking is dangerous and anti-social, it's also "queue jumping".

Where did any of us say we would just follow "slow" moving vehicles. It may be that some of us don't let "slow" traffic wind us up.

you are not putting 2 and 2 together, either you progressively 'follow' slow moving crap or just overtake them, the vibes I am getting is I am a hooligan for overtaking idiots doing 40 and everyone is happy as larry to sit behind a queue of traffic gradually escalating.

I would say it is you that is not putting 2 and 2 together. Your videos show that your perception of risk is lower than some of us and you would go for the overtake when some of us wouldn't. Doesn't mean we are "happy as larry" about it, just that it doesn't wind us up, as it clearly does you.

Well they say take care arguing with an idiot as they'll drag your down to their level.

But I'll bite. Do you think that you make your argument stronger with a sneidy jab at each person you are responding to?

Unfortunately all you do is make everything you say look trite and stupid.

But hey it's entertaining, so crack on mate.

You are taking criticism of where, when and how you overtake as criticism of overtaking. Some of the criticism is from people who would face consequences for missing any overtaking opportunities and likely fail if they missed a few. They would be making much better progress than you.
Your driving, in most of those videos, is objectively poor, frequently illegal and occasionally dangerous. You should learn to drive properly slowly and then add speed.

Indeed. The number of people who overtake my hearse, sometimes in a ridiculous manner has to be seen to be believed. It can be quite upsetting for the family if they are in the cortege.

Definitely not ...

But would be the view of the 40 everywhere brigade though.

some clips from my camera - terrible driving especially in the country roads. Its slightly better than navigating the motorway on a dail basis but still annoying to see people seemingly unable to perform overtake manouvres.

I wish the plod visited this kneck of the woods and pulled the 40mph'ers off the road

I am not your 'mate' and don't wish to engage with pensioners dithering around on public roads thinking they are god.

Driving standards are st, sadly rose tinted blints like you can't seem to grasp the situation.
