Insurance for sprogs, thinking outside the box

MG3 is one of the cheapest cars you can insure for a youngster.
Also Flux was good for provisional insurance, not even in the ball park for first year full license insurance though.
Also I’ve found it’s cheaper to add extra miles as you go, than load it at the start.

I've got my lad insured on a 07 Honda Civic 1.8 for £870. Thats with a black box, 6000 miles per year, me and Mrs M on the insurance and him as a brand new full licence. 140 ish BHP for a first car is pretty good. Just need to remember its a black box when I drive it but he's getting a really good score on the feedback/spy in the car.
