Same day passport? Gf accidentally taken it on her trip
Discussion
DHL aren't your only option. TNT (now Fedex) have a large operation in the Canaries. Next day delivery should be guaranteed even a next day AM or 0900.
Get the GF to ask at the resort reception or Google where the local office is.
Jesus wept. It's not that difficult.
Why can't people pi k up a phone these days?

Have you GF get on a plane and bring it back in person. She can be back sipping tequila on the beach the same day.
Tricky one that, she might be scuppered if they decide to really check 'her' passport leaving Tenerife. You would then both end up in a neverending circle of hell.Osinjak said:

Slighty off topic, but reminds me of this passport sage.
Diver on a ship in the southern north sea is flying off to Gt Yarmouth, sitting on the chopper, the medic (woman) is told by the pilot the chopper is too heavy, so she takes one bag off, telling no one.
Chopper lands in Gt Yarmouth, diver met by rep, told about the bag, but no worries its on the next chopper.
Next chopper goes to Dan Helder in Holland, with his bag.
Now the diver has a cheepo ticket to fly to the states that night, but his passport is in Holland. Company couldnt get a courier to fly over till the next day to pick up his passport.
Cost the company a hotel room for the night, and an expensive flight to Americal the next day.
As for the medic, seems she was shagging the captain, and no action was taken.

Why? I don't think it's a case of she doesn't have her passport. She has his as well.

I travelled on my wife’s passport (within the EU) not long ago (they still just randomly wave you through on occasion) and earlier this week I was surprised to fly (within the U.K.) without showing any ID at all.The checks are far more stringent than to allow anyone to travel on any old passport now.

When I worked overseas offshore, one passport could be off to an embassy for a visa meaning I needed another to travel meanwhile. BUT it’s not a good idea to show two passports at immigration, illegal in some parts.
Can't use my work one for holidays, etc. Some have tried it on and got themselves into a right mess.A good friend of mine flew to Miami a few years ago to start a three week fly drive holiday , but she left the DL for both of them at home.
She rang me on the Friday night and asked me to sort it out ASAP.
Rang DHL on the Saturday morning , dropped the DL’s off a few miles from home by the lunchtime, turned up at their hotel in Miami at 11.00am on the Tuesday morning.
£90 iirc
They were meant to be checking out on the Tuesday anyway and the parking charge was $25 a day , so it worked out fine.

You’ve missed your flight then mate.Sorry OP couldn’t resist, as others have said courier is the way, we use them all the time at work. Both dhl and fedex have a document service, sent some shipping docs to Abu Dhabi a couple of weeks ago, collected here on Friday, with the customer Sunday morning
Hi,
This reminds me of something a few years ago.
Couple and elderly mother from the northern part of the UK were travelling down to the south coast towing their caravan and intending to get a ferry over to France. After a long trip they eventually reach the ferry terminal and it's at this point that they realise that the elderly mother doesn't have her passport!
With the ferry leaving shortly the decision was taken to put the elderly mother in the caravan, hidden, sitting on the toilet, and to then take a chance and go for it. A few hours later at the roadside in France, the doors were opened by the couple and the elderly mother was able to get back in the car. A much needed two week holiday was then taken.
Roll on two weeks and the return trip awaits, and the couple are thinking what to do now. "Do we come clean at the French ferry terminal", or "Do we go to the British Embassy" and all sorts of other options. Decision made to do the same.
Near to the ferry terminal they stopped at the roadside and elderly mother again placed on the toilet, toilet door shut and lots of equipment etc placed against door in an attempt to discourage a search. Passed through and onto the ferry. Then the ferry leaves and there is a bit of a storm blowing! After a rough crossing they drove through the Customs and they were through!
A couple of miles outside the port they pulled over and due to the rough crossing the inside of the caravan was a mess. They clambered over stuff, opened the toilet door, and the elderly mother was there, slumped over and very dead!
The couple are distraught for their loss and for the fact that questions will be asked and how are they going to explain this one away?
In their bereft state they took the decision to uncouple the caravan, leave it there in the layby and drive to the local Police Station. Half an hour later they returned with Police officers to find that the caravan had been nicked!

The costs for that are a drop in the ocean for the offshore world, no one would care. Diver on a ship in the southern north sea is flying off to Gt Yarmouth, sitting on the chopper, the medic (woman) is told by the pilot the chopper is too heavy, so she takes one bag off, telling no one.

Given the thread has now turned into story time,
I once left my passport on the deck of a ship in panama harbour. I went back ashore, the ship went to Guam. Good job ships are slow and twin engined RIBs aren’t.
ETA: the only time I’ve had issues with multiple passports is entering the UK. Seems we don’t require immigration officers to be intelligent.
You don’t really need a passport to cross from France to England, or least you didn’t before the camps appeared in Calais. I’ve also entered 2 countries illegally and was in one country without there being any record of me entering or leaving and my passport not even looked at. These all being on commercial flights to national capitals.

If you have regular passports, there is absolutely no such thing as a work and leisure passport. 9/10 times, you need your employer to write a letter explaining you need a second passport for business purposes (visa applications / business visits to countries who don’t see eye to eye are about the only two reasons that will get you two passports). You can then work to maintain “clean” and “dirty”, whereby you mainly use one passport to go to stty countries to keep one pretty benign.
