When I worked overseas offshore, one passport could be off to an embassy for a visa meaning I needed another to travel meanwhile. BUT it’s not a good idea to show two passports at immigration, illegal in some parts.
Can't use my work one for holidays, etc. Some have tried it on and got themselves into a right mess. When renewing one of two once, I had a call from the Passport office, she said "In this heightened times of security I noticed you seem to have three passports"
I asked her for the three numbers, she told me.
I opened a drawer in the front room and pulled out the 3rd passport she referred to, asked her if this is the one with the top right corner cut off......................... they do that when they cancel a passprot.
Think she was a tad embarised, blamed it on the computer not deleting the cancelled passport, heightened security, OK.
OP, probably too late but I would get the GF to go to the airport and just ask the most trusting looking Brit she can find and who's flying to your airport to take it with them. Offer to give £50 for duty free. Job done :-)
Yes bit of a risk but anything ese will take ages and/or be mega expensive.

Practical suggestion and would be fine in 99.9% of cases but imagine if you got pulled over at customs for a check......'can you explain why you have someone else's passport'......'oh, someone offered me £50 to take it back to their boyfriend'.......'do you know either of these people?'......'er, no, I was just going to meet him at arrivals and hand it over'.

If you’re going to do something this retarded, at least make sure the person you give the passport is trustworthy rather than trusting.Yes bit of a risk but anything ese will take ages and/or be mega expensive.

Given that I have a passport that was issued in direct relation to my job, the country I was going to and my status in said country I’m reasonably confident that I can state it’s my work passport.
Hence why I said “if”sc0tt said:

Has the OP responded at all?
Beginning to think this was a troll.
Why a troll? It is hardly an unbelievable situation Beginning to think this was a troll.
OP here, what was said earlier in the thread is indeed true, it appears you cannot get a 1 day replacement for lost/stolen as they want to see the original. I explored DHL but they were quoting Friday. She's back then so I'm just delaying my trip until later in the year. Lesson learned to empty my bag properly.

Ah well lesson learned. I trust you've mistyped the above but how would they be able to see an original passport if it's lost or stolenOsinjak said:
