Just a heads up mostly. My photocard was out of date (by quite a bit as it turns out). I've had the forms here for ages, so I eventually got round to filling out the form and posting it off to be renewed yesterday...
Tonight I've stumbled upon the fact that the DVLA is not accepting form applications and is essentially closed to all but key workers (not sure how they'd know that, but anyway)
I guess my form and cheque will sit there for the foreseeable...what was to happen if I was applying to get my licence unrevoked?

What a fking joke, tried emailing them and I just get a response with the phone number that is closed due to cv 19. And now they are apparently ignoring mail. wkers. So I'm stuck paying tax on a car that I no longer own and cannot get it registered to the new keeper. Useless aholes as always.
I renewed my licence a week into lockdown at the post office - my online application wouldn't work as my passport photo was over-aged too.....
The receipt evidences the application and as long as no circumstances other than the photo have changed, applicants should continue to drive in accordance with the licence.
From their website:
After you apply at a Post Office or by post
Your driving licence should arrive within 3 weeks. It might take longer if your medical or personal details need to be checked.
You can continue driving while you wait for your new licence to arrive.

Most of HMRC are not working too.
Bet they are all off on full pay.
I phoned HMRC the day before yesterday. It took 20 minutes but I got through to a very helpful guy who it seems was working from home - he managed to sort my problem out (well, my PAYE problem anyway!) and issue a new tax code to my new employer. Bet they are all off on full pay.
So they are working; at home and not so many advisors available but they are there.

Awesome Mr Angry. Have you not spotted that Covid-19 is causing quite a bit of disruption and hardship? Well. not the mention the suffering a deaths. But hey, clearly you are right and DVLA have decided just to put their feet up, drink beer and wait for it all to be over.speedyguy said:

That's nothing Covid 19 related though. It's just a regular day. Bet they are all off on full pay.
Hilarious!
The whole World has been hit by a potentially fatal virus, resulting in a World-wide disruption, the likes of which hasn't been seen since World War 2.
Everyone has been told to stay at home wherever possible, avoid going out as much as possible, and to work from home if they can, and yet people on here think the DVLA should just ignore all of that, all be at work, carrying on as though nothing is happening, and provide the exact same service, to the same level, as they did before the virus struck!

Based on what exactly? - Some stupid, petty, childish guess? Bet they are all off on full pay.
