I'm actually convinced it is purely because people believe the status they feel they get from driving the products cannot be matched at a similar price point.

Want to feel like the queen or a rapper in a full size? What else at 80k can do that? Nothing. A Bentley/Rolls SUV is twice the price. Nobody with popular culture status drives saloons any more.

Consequently they make excuses for the rubbish quality.
As a non Range Rover owner, but am puzzled by the loyalty of RR owners, the post above would seem to me to sum it up.

I think people may be missing something here. We live in a world where you can change your gender just by saying so and men can have periods and get pregnant. Taking this into account, how many people filling these surveys in driving a mundane SUV identify their car as a Range Rover......................food for thought

It's not upkeep, its the electrical and tech issues acc. to the first post which implied the FFRR has so much tech thats not on lesser cars and can therefore quite rightly be expected to cost 2k a year to fix, but the car is still "reliable"?. But now that 2k has become servicing and the mystery unique tech that the RR has thats bound to fail because theres so much of it has so far not been mentioned.

Lets be honest, perhaps the RR has the same tech a lot of other cars but its just not built to the same standards and thus costs 2k a year to fix, which is why the vehicles are reported as unreliable by owners for surveys?
Seems to me, these cars don't have a long future.
When they are ten years old, I can't see people wanting to pay for that kind of upkeep.

I think you should consider installing a carbon monoxide detector in your home.
