I'm glad the cringe thread is finally back. I have missed it.

Literally just had a do with some guy this evening, no fisty cuffs though.
I’m stood in the local Italian picking up some food, mrs sat in the car. Take away driver for another shop pulls up in front of her and reverses, stops but then his car rolls back so mrs beeps the horn. He gets out and starts mouthing off to her then goes into the shop, comes back and out and starts again thinking she’s on her own and he can bully women.
So I come out (I like the gym so reasonably well built) tell him to F off and I been watching him from the shop. Instantly changes his tune now he knows she’s not alone, apologised and gets straight in his car.
At some point you'll unfortunately run into someone who doesn't care in the slightest that you use a gym and are "reasonably well built". I've a pal who is built like a pipe cleaner who is slightly unhinged and actually thrives on those type situations. He was once locked up in an airport for flattening a huge fat Russian who queue jumped.
Steer well clear, there's always someone who will use a knife / hammer/ bat they carry in their work van :-)

I don’t car if the other person is a world champ UFC fighter I still won’t be standing aside while he abuses my mrs. I didn’t say I could fight, terrible at boxing, but 99% of these people are just small dogs with large barks picking on what they think is easy prey.
If he did pull a weapon or come for me at least il be quick on my toes and my mrs get get to safety.

You are right Glen most of these people expect to intimidate people then don't really know what to do when the s&it is real as they don't expect you to actually want some smoke yourself

A worthwhile point. Most of the time it’s not worth escalating unless you’re in direct physical danger.

A lot of people won’t “learn a lesson”, as they have little to lose. Every so often you’ll read about a bystander or someone that intervened, only to be fatally stabbed or at least seriously hurt.

Maybe if you’re Tyson in his prime or said MMA champion things might be different but for the average Joe, it’s not worth it.

Rather than fighting, it's far more effective to attempt to french kiss the assailant with a strange look in one's eyes.

To quote Messrs Chas and Dave "WALLOP!!! E'S GORN DAAAAAHN! "

Glad the outcome was in your favour OP. It never ceases to amaze me just how stupid criminals can be - anyone with common sense would have kept their head down and skulked away. Instead he draws attention to himself over a pointless dispute that ended up with him possibly going to prison for his earlier actions.

I suppose people rarely sit at the crossroads of "career in brain surgery" and "petty criminal".

I saw on Instagram yesterday a guy complaining about someone letting their dog st outside his house and not picking it up, so he's collected it and is going to return it to them.

I'll be interested in how it turns out, as the guy complaining is Eddie Hall!

You are friends with a guy with serious mental problems who is clearly a danger to the general public? You almost sound proud of associating with a scumbag.

Don't be so bloody daft. And there's many like him, hence the warning, too many people carry knives on a daily basis now.

Good for you OP

The "men" who avoid such situations are precisely why we have the problem

There is a tiny percentage of nutters about, most are just weak tts but because the vast majority of "men" avoid physical confrontation is why they continue
