Audi A6 E-Tron Avant 2024

Just bunged my name into the hat for this for a mid/late 2024 delivery, (though I doubt it'll look much like the concept car).

I need a big estate as my dog is the size of a pony.

It says 435 miles per charge - I guess that means a realistic +/- 375. If so it would be the first EV only car I'd buy as that would be the minimum I'd require.

The lb-ft torque and bhp look impressive to say the least (makes my 996 911 Turbo S look like a rusty bus).

And no, I won't spec these stupid wheels, I drive on British roads.

BTW, having big wheels on a car can work on UK roads, provided the car has got a decent suspension from the manufacturer.

Collect E-Tron GT next month, if it was a choice between them and both were available now, the A6 would win I think…

I hope they stay fairly true to the concept versions. Audi said it was 90% production, but sometimes that 10% can make the difference between a spectacular car and a dull car.

The A6 sedan and this Avant concepts look great, fingers crossed that they manage the transition to production and still look sharp.

Are they taking orders already then? I think it's a very interesting option - large EV estate was just what I was after, but ended up going for a Q4 as a stop gap as was keen to get out of ICE having gotten used to driving EV and finding them so much better as a daily solution.

Any idea on pricing yet, or is it a very early registration of interest only?

I just put in a 'letter of intent'. As soon as they have delivery dates I'll put deposit down... but I wanted to be first in the queue. They reckon Summer 24.

Looks like there will be 2 versions, one with the big battery, one with a smaller. Press reckon £60k starting price, but I think more like £70k+ for the bigger battery version. It'll have to be priced considerably lower than the Porsche (which will use the same power train).

Would certainly consider one, as currently have an Etron, and a new Q7 Etron on order for the end of 2023, however can’t see the Allroad getting close to the range mentioned.

My current Etron range is 200 tops, the new one is meant to be closer to 250, so how are Audi adding another 50% in genuine range to the Allroad ?

I hope I’m wrong as had a couple of Allroads previously and thought they were great.

More likely starting at £80k-90k for the 100 kWh battery version, with the range mentioned in the first post. Power and Performance is usually equivalent to an Audi ‘S’ or ‘RS’ on the larger battery versions too.

-> A BMW iX50 with a 100kwh battery starts at £103k
-> A mid spec Merc EQE is ~£90k with a 90 kWh battery.

LIghter and considerably better aero. (.22cd v .27cd)

Our etron 55 has averaged 215 miles of range across 18 months and 15k miles (2.5 miles/kWh, 86.5KW useable battery), and the new Q8 55 has a 106kW useable battery so should realistically cover 265 miles on average and closer to 300 on longer runs and during the warmer months.

The A6 etron shares this larger battery apparently so 350-400 miles of real world range (3.3>3.7 miles/kWh) wouldn't be that ridiculous?

The Q8 etron 55 with the 106kWh battery and 420hp starts at £77k, this 'should' be cheaper.

A6 etron will be 800V PPE. Not the same battery.

Interesting Q8 moved from pouch to prismatic as part of this facelift non the less.
