just traded mine in this week for a not too disimilar price but couldnt be hassled with the test drives and general public. I say not dissimilar but about a k less. As it needed new tyres i was happy to do the deal.
I was sad to see the car go but the replacement hasnt had me looking back. I do miss the attention it got and I do miss being waved out of side junctions/roads etc as the new car people seem to think "eff off".
It was tough too, the day I did the deal, the sun was out the car was perfect it was just almost tempting to say no - but I needed something a little more refined for long trips. We did Poland and back in the Z last year, loved it but just fancied something a bit more refined this time around!
Well done on the sale
Cool - what year and miles was yours, and where were you able to trade it in? I'd sort of expected that not to be possible.I was sad to see the car go but the replacement hasnt had me looking back. I've had my 'replacement' car for a while, which gets more pedestrian thumbs up and kindness at junctions than the Z did, but doesn't quite have the same 'will never let you down' feeling about it. Taking the Sag out to say bye bye to the Z made me feel a bit better about it, but I'll still miss it.
I reckon there's only one remaining UK 2006 Z06 still with its original owner after today.
The car was a 2006 UK, it was on 32500 miles. Previous owner put only 3k on in 4 years ownership, I put 20 on in 2, they are supposed to be driven!!
There are very few places that will talk about Vettes for trade in, obviously Adrian T will do them, I went via Nick Whale. Great guys and great cars and as they are not scared by the Vette they talk sensible on part x

What sort or range does a UK based ZO6 sell for?
C6's £32k upwards for anything decent, I reckon. That one in Cheshire looks good vfm, and its sat around with a bad smell for a long time so def room for negotiating.
Is anybody still looking for a Z06?
My car is going to be advertised shortly. Its a 2006 Import in Silver, with 33k miles.
The car has been extensively modified over the last 10 years with the aim to improve reliability and performance. It is a bit special now! I would keep it forever but a new house purchase and the Mrs finally running out of patience means now is the time . . . Typically the car is at its absolute best at the moment :-(
I have a number of people that know the car already that are very keen to purchase, but as ever, its whether the timing is right for them.
I will post the advert on Pistonheads by the end of the week, but if anybody would like more info in the meantime please DM me.

In what way does the reliability require modification to fix? 20,000 hard miles in mine, not a single issue, not even something to warrant a comment saying its currently the best its ever been...
The main issue was the heads. When tested at 26,000 miles they were at the maximum possible amount of play. Many more miles driven would likely have resulted in the end of the engine as so many others have suffered. Now they are fixed with proper parts that will last the life of the engine. As the car is a 2006 car it came with the smaller dry sump tank and non baffled pan. I changed to an ARE dry sump system to overcome the long left hand corner oil starvation the early cars suffered from. This is not an issue if you are still on the old run flats, but a switch to modern rubber and I felt is was worth being safe.
The front hubs have been changed to SKF racing items to avoid the pad knock back that the flex in the standard items cause.
The engine was rewired as the orginal wiring was falling to bits causing multipule issues.
A larger capacity radiator has been installed to keep the water temp down and it has an inbuild oil cooler which helps keep the oil cooler, and even better, helps it warm up faster on cold mornings.
I could keep going but I hope you get the idea.

Jeez fella's and I thought running a 49 year old C3 was always work in progress!
The heads on the z06 aren't an issue if a pre 2008 or post 2011 car but many folk tend to do something. I just drove mine and never missed a beat, internet is full of horror stories. The C3 being the biggest of them all That's true enough about C3 'fables'. Has always irritated me that a late big block C2 has virtually identical running gear, chassis etc to an earlier C3. Effectively the same car except for body and interior. Yet look at price differentials of 50% to 100% more for earlier car. Tales of gearboxes, clutches, driveshafts etc not capable of handling high horsepower. Figured it out that if GM could put produce a 500 hp+ car like L88 then the drivetrain should at least comfortably handle that sort of output without busting. Buddy of mine runs Procharged C5Z06 and drives it very hard - does it 'bust' - no..............

I would like to suggest that you do bit of research on
www.corvetteforum.com before you start writing rubbish.
It's people like you who will have someone destroy their engine
due to not even checking it as there is "no problem", but then again
you won't be paying will you.
