helipilot, where did you get your mgw shifter from?
I bought it direct from MGW when I was living in the USA and fitted it myself. It's an easy job. My side repeaters were fitted as part of the import process prior to IVA.

Hi all.
Just thought I'd update this thread with the news that I have finally bought and collected a Grand Sport today from Craig at Ian Allan.
Absolutely great service.
It's the blue one that was for sale here.
I was seriously looking in Germany, but the value of the £ vs Euro made them really expensive.
Thanks to everyone who posted on here and for the PM's sent.
Looking forward to seeing a few of you at Corvette events next year.
Cheers and Happy New Year...!

Thanks for that, Chris and Brian.
I'm loving it - and trying to get used to all the attention.
When I collected it and called at the petrol station 2 minutes afterwards (whilst Craig filled it up for me - thanks), the attendant ignored a £100k+ Aston next to it and wanted photos of the car and him next to it.
Also yesterday at The Phoenix in Hartley Wintney event, I overheard someone chatting to their mates saying that it was their favourite car there (praise indeed as it was parked just up from 3 McLarens).
Gets positive attention everywhere.

Now you’ve found a (lovely looking) car I feel I can hijack the thread smile

Having previously owned a c6 z06 the time has come to get hold of a c7 z06. I’m flexible on colours but really want a manual. There’s a silver car for sale atm which seems attractively priced - anyone have any observations on that one? I know it’s not well specced but it’s a weekend toy and I really don’t care, especially coming from a Tuscan and previously a noble.

Thanks for any advice. Anyone own one anywhere near Essex?

Niall.
Thanks for your nice comments about my car.
You'll love a Z06 - my Grand Sport is plenty quick enough, so I bet another couple of hundred bhp will be amazing. They are superb cars and I love mine.
The silver one (presumably the Clive Sutton one for £62k) looks nice, but is priced a bit cheaper than 'the going rate' as it's a US import model. This isn't a negative, but EU or UK models will always be worth more. EU and UK models are easily identified by bigger wing mirrors with indicators built-in and headlight washers built into the bumper area. There have been one or two US ones for sale where people have added their own headlight washers - so look out for those.
see here -
US spec -
UK/EU spec -
It also doesn't have many of the bits that are popular add-ons ie carbon dash, carbon side skirts/front splitter. Again, if it did, it'd be more £££.
There are plenty of really helpful, friendly people on this part of the forum that offered great advice to me when I was looking and hopefully someone with more 'Vette experience will be along to give their opinion.
At the end of the day, it's still a Z06, but be armed with this info if you go and see it.

You could always look in the EU - see these sites:

www.leparking.be
www.autoscout24.com
www.autouncle.de

Feel free to drop me a PM if you want any other info as I have done loads of research over the last few months.

Hi mate. Thanks so much for the info/links. I definitely need to do more reading as I didn’t realise GM had officially imported the z06, just the stingray. Do you know how many they bought in? I wonder if the ZR1 will be officially available as well.

I will start checking those links.

The ZR1 won't be officially imported as it won't pass the pedestrian safety tests with all of the empennages on it. I have a C7 Z06 that I imported from the USA, having owned it from new over there. It was a daily driver in the USA but not now due to petrol prices and the quality of our roads! Let me know if you have any questions on them such as options etc as I can probably help with a lot.
