On the lookout for ManualC6 Vette, pref Z06 or Gransport/Z51

I've taken the difficult step of putting my TVR Griff up for sale which means I'm now starting to look for a Corvette.

I haven't been to look at any yet, but I think I made some sort of pact with myself at Le Mans in 2007 or so that I would like a Corvette, remember watching the racers and a convoy of new road cars.

I'm most keen on the Z06 with the LS7 engine for the pace and 7 Litre bragging rights it offers.

However, I see that the standard Vette or Gransport has a targa top, hard not to be attracted by that too.

I want a manual one perhaps Grandsport or at least with the Z51 pack etc.

If anyone has any buying tips or ideas where/how to source one that would be great.

There is a Velocity yellow Z06 for sale that is a Japanese import, look v nice but has been for sale for about year it seems.

The pound is weak against the dollar atm, would like a car that already in the UK ideally, but maybe I should consider importing?

BTW, must be a manual and not an auto.

You're right about the exchange rate being particularly poor, but there are some bargains to be had in the States (and an adventure if you go over to get it yourself). Choosing one just over ten years old will make life easier when you bring it back, as it only needs a normal MOT. RFL is cheaper on an import too, granted that's only a couple of hundred a year saving, but it all helps.

Thanks, that’s quite a story! And what a lot of car for the money! High mileage isn’t always so bad.

There do seem to be a lot of auto C6’s.
