Congratulations on your purchase! Two things!
1. The brakes will be rubbish if it hasn’t been run before the test drive, expect the same when you first get yours, they take some bedding in
2. The earplugs recommendation is not just for exhaust noise. The multi-frequency sounds that wind noise generates will give you temporarily deaf after a drive and over time this begins to make your hearing suffer permanently. Heavily recommend ear plugs for anything longer than a 10 minute drive!

Thanks Dino. That is very nice of you.

Well, when I did the test the car was only around 45 kms old... and brakes were... I don't know the word, like hard and slow... Maybe that was the problem. Anyway, I plan to order the 4 pistons ones, hehe

And thank you very much for the advice on the ear plugs. I didn't have any problem without them on my test, less than half an hour, rural roads, silencer on the back... but my girlfriend tried an R300 and she arrived with some pain in the ear and very dizzy spin Our intention is to tour for at least a couple hours each time we go out, so it is a very good advice indeed!

I have an appointment to pay the deposit for it in 30 min... woohoo

The standard brakes are fine, I should try them for a while before you upgrade smile

Seems like the standard brakes are like marmite. I tested 3 cars (including one for a weekend) with standard brakes and thought they were awful for road use. They were powerful but I had to press way to hard which soon became wearing and distracting. I think the 4-pots are fantastic and I'm very glad I ticked that box.
On the other hand people say Mintex pads transform the standard brakes, so I sometimes regret not giving that a go before upgrading. The cost of upgrading is not really any more expensive than ticking the box in the first place, so not much too lose by trying to get the standard working how you like it apart from the faff.

The big advantage of keeping the standard brakes is that the discs are £25 instead of £150 eek

Thanks for your answers! Car will be brand new, so taking the "good" brakes from the beginning is not an issue.

Then, ETA is April, but CC had a cancellation and now they have a free slot in January rolleyes The dealer is working to get that slot for me, hehe...

Will keep you informed.

For the moment, I'd like to buy the famous Halcyon Mark 9, but I have tried some copies and I could not breath through my nose with them on. Do you know of any physical store in London (or better in South France) where I could try them? Thanks.
