Maybe it's time to start an "I was banned from the Caterham & Lotus 7 Owners Group Facebook and given no reason" group - there'd be almost as many members as the erstwhile group itself.
The:

I W B F T C & L 7 O G F A G N R

Sounds like a plan..............

It sounds more like a Welsh railway station!

I left both the Caterham FB pages when someone got all prissy about a humorous comment I made on the classifieds page and some mod threatened to ban me. I saved him the effort by leaving.

The group I was associated with has now been closed and archived under threat of legal action.

Anyone who remains linked is kindly requested to remove themselves from the group so it can be swiftly deleted.

Thank you.
If closed why does any member need to remove themselves?

I think if you want to delete a group it needs to be empty. If an admin leaves, facebook probably re-allocated admin rights, whereas in this case the requirement is to completely delete the group, so the request is to leave, to save the admin having to manually remove people one by one (2,500 members - not a fun afternoon of clicking).

I can't access the FB page now, so I presume that I've been deleted. Sad to see it go, I found it useful.

Great shame to see it go, it use to be the number 1 forum for me to visit . C.P had organised with I.P a number of great events.
Unsure why he wasn't prepared to allow someone else to take over .
Sadly I received some very unfriendly PM's from the administer, even though I felt I had a good rapport with him and decided to remove myself from the FB page a couple of months ago. I'm not surprised but a little disappointed the threat of legal action has reared it's ugly head . At the end of the day we're all a bunch of guys who are car enthusiasts with a passion for the 7 and because of that, personal issues, indifferences and egos should be left outside .

The FB page is back up and running for those that miss the old page, same name but different admins.

I'm a little intrigued by the mention of legal action.
Considering some of the questionable content and contributions on FB as a whole I'm not convinced it would achieve anything.

Throwing a few threats around to ruffle a few feathers and cause disquiet are not the same as achieving something in court.

Hi all. I have no idea what went on, and have no interest in finding out. The FB Group was a well respected area for all information C7 & L7 related. I have strayed the site again, with new Admin/Mods as I believe it is for the car owners not the custodians of the site. I welcome anyone that has a genuine C7 or L7 to join. I hope to maintain the ethos of the previous page but please remember, we won’t always please everyone all of the time.

Merry Christmas and get posting :-)

My point exactly.
If it was an issue with the name, there are plenty of other pages on FB that take the name of something/someone without being officially endorsed or approved, some for satirical effect, others for deliberate deception, and they all seem to survive quite well.
And if it's a case of someone being personally targeted.....well, welcome to the Internet. Click "Ignore" and move on.

Caterham groups do tend to end up spitting the dummy, and throwing toys out of the cot.
I can’t be arsed with them any more.
Pistonheads occaisionally is all I do.
There’s only so much you can discuss about a Caterham anyway.
It’s like Caterham bringing out “new models” Ooh look! It’s, er.... another Caterham...
