I went to order some parts from Monkfish this morning and saw a notice on their homepage that they are closing on the 30th August. Very sad news as they've always been nothing but great to deal with frown

So the question now is where is left to buy parts from for our cars?

Well that sucks, there's already limited support for these cars as there is.

I have always found both Roger and Andy to be professional and helpful, offering advice wherever possible. As a business owner I can relate to their reasons and respect the manner they are endeavouring to fulfil their existing commitments.

It's a sad loss to the Holden community but I would like to thank them for the way they looked after my car and wish them well for the future thumbup

It's sad as Monkfish were my go to for everything usually. I have even driven the car there a few times from Manchester. I can also get the issues surrounding it, as I'm stuck in a situation now where work is taking over my life.

Sure Walkinshaw can still look after them, also MW Performance in Chester.

I know another garage in the NW that wanted to start catering towards these as well. At the moment though they are still very much a Japanese specialist.

Massive shame. The guys were always able to offer advice and speedy part delivery. It would be nice if they could find someone to take over the business rather than shutting it down...

I guess overnight parts from Japan oz is the way forward

I really can't believe this..... Monkfish closing down!!!!!!...they have to be the best, most honest and knowledgeable garages around for our car's.
How the hell do you replace the likes of Andy and Roger? This is very sad news indeed, even my wife was stunned, (and she always tells me off when I visit them,£££££)
I have been a customer with them for about 10yrs, and I cannot fault them. They are the best.
Having said all that, I have no doubt they have their reasons for closure, so I wish them the best of luck in the future.

Regards John

Blimey - that is a surprise. Only ever used them for parts when I had the vxr8 - too far for servicing etc - but always felt they had work coming out of their ears?

Very sad news. Monaro/VXR8 ownership just got tougher.

Was just about to buy some discs too but see they are out of stock, doh!
That'll teach me to put things off!

Wow, that sucks. That'll certainly make keeping our cars on the road a little tougher in years to come.

Oh no, this is a disaster. I drive up from Somerset to get my car serviced and it has been well worth the trip every time. I'm due a service now and have no idea what I'm going to do.

Sad day.

On an upbeat note good luck to the guys, and thanks for all the great work you have done for me in the past.

This is a massive shame......you will be missed Andy and Roger. Good luck on your future endeavours. Mine is due a service, I will have to pull my finger out and do it myself. I am not sure where to take it for bigger issues......I guess Southampton at picadore for me? Elite car must have a more local garage they use? Is it James down there.....I should call him for a chat.

RIP monkfish......miss you already

I recently brought my Monaro from James and I think the guy who does the work is a garage near by, only 5 mins down the road..... I believe he is not a specialist but has gained a lot of knowledge due to James supplying him with many cars to work on.

I am in the same boat... I was going to take it to Monkfish for a service and general health check but now a tad lost as to where do I go around Berkshire/Hampshire area thats not too far away? Picadoor like you said is the only garage that is coming to mind but they wont be interested in general health check nor the car really...

Walkinshaw aren't far from you ^^

It's not so much the servicing and the parts I'll miss as there's plenty of specialists who know these cars dotted around the UK, it's Andy and Roger's attitude and advice that I'll miss. It's always been nice knowing that they were just a phone call away, and so approachable with their knowledge and expertise.

Codswallop, I could not agree more.
It's the fact that Rodger and Andy know these car's inside out. That is why we respect them and their advice, and ultimately that is why we are all repeat customers.

RIP Monkfish. They have always been excellent to deal with. Their online parts service is/was second to none.

Just a reminder that those who would like to continue to use all Royal Purple products, AAS in Newcastle import/stock it smile And if you're willing to travel, they can also service your car.

Please note I'm not affiliated with AAS.

Agree, terrible news for us. Best of luck with whatever Roger & Andy do next though.
