Caterham Academy 2019

Hey Guys,

I signed up to the 2019 academy and am starting to get really excited. Has anyone else on here signed up? Any ideas when the kits will start arriving? Back in December, I was told it would be about September but that was just a rough estimate.

I’m hoping to be at Castle Combe in August to see some of the Academy Guys race and get more of a deal for it.

If it's any help I ordered a kit at the start of November (admittedly, not an Academy car) and the latest update as of a few weeks ago is that it's looking like it will be the start of September. That is however still an estimate.

I'm in this years - We've just had our first event.......its been great fun so far but Caterham had a lot of trouble getting the kits to everyone in good time.

Mine was very late and put me under pressure to get it built in time.

I would keep on top of them with the progress of your car in the production.....

Can I ask when you ordered yours, and when did it get delivered?

Ordered in Jan '17, Delivery was originally meant to be late sept.

It eventually turned up in Dec '17 sans engine and wheels - there was a shortage of clutches I was told.

Thanks for letting us know. Let’s hope they’ve solved their supply issues. I’ll make sure I push for regular updates. So far they haven’t asked me for the second payment, so they won’t even have started building my kit yet.

If you're close to Castle Combe why not pop along on the bank holiday Monday at the end of May? The Caterham Graduates will have 4 races and all of the cars did the Academy at some point in the past. It'll give you a good idea what you've got to look forward to.

That would be really good. I’m not sure I have planned for the bank holiday weekend, but if I’m free i’ll definitely come and have a look at what the Caterham Graduates is all about.

I am signed up for 2019.
I believe there is a meet up on the 1st of December at Caterham Crawley.
I have been told that details will be sent out in the next week or so.

According to the newsletter from Caterham there is a Facebook group for the 2019 Academy. It might be easier to converse on that.

There is likely an Academy 2019 page - it is very useful and there is a lot of knowledge sharing on there. Genuinely very useful (and there is a lot of banter etc on there - well there was in this years Academy (Now Roadsport 2019) one anyway.

I'll be at the seminar as a 2018 Academy participant for you to fire questions at.

I'm a 2017 Academy runner.... the best decision of my life. I made lots of fantastic new friends, had some stonking battles on the track, and have so many great memories.... getting ready for Year 3 now.... still so much to learn!

Look forwards to seeing you on track soon.
