Morning all,

I was wondering if any Caterham owners also owned a Brompton fold up bike?

If so can they fit the bike in the car by either strapping it into the passenger seat or footwell?

Cheers

Google bike and Caterham 7 and you'll get pictures of how Caterham owners attach a bike to their car.

Can't see any Bromptons but plenty of ful size road and MTB secured to the roll bar.

Thanks for the reply. I'm thinking I'll just be able to strap into the front passenger seat with the four point harness?

Dimensions when folded are: 55cm x 60cm x 25cm.

I think you'd struggle to kit it in.

I'd also want to put the bike in a 'Brompton Bike Bag' to stop and damage to the seats from sharp components, chain oil, road grime etc

Honestly, I would have thought it would go in easily. Mainly because I exceed two of the three dimensions. 25cm should see it fit easily in the width of the passenger seat. May be more challenging with Tillets, needing it to slide into the footwell. I've had a big storage box in the footwell, tonnes of trackday gear and all sorts. The alternative would be using ratchet straps and getting it lashed behind the rollbar. Finally, if you've a spare wheel carrier, switching out the fifth wheel for a can of goo and chucking it in there could be on?

Taking out the leather seat base would also help and reduce the risk of damage.

I thought I would update this. I did indeed removed the seat base and the Brompton fitted nicely.
